The trick to working pretty much anywhere you can sit comfortably is a lap desk with a surface can be tilted up, like this one. (I don’t own that specific model but I have one a lot like it.) Tilting the work surface up as high as it will go puts the display closer to eye level, and that makes a world of difference. The keyboard position is a little bit of a compromise but I’ve learned to live with it.
Mine has been everywhere from sofa to recliner to bed to lawn and beach chairs to the back of my wife’s SUV on a long road trip. It also makes larger laptops usable in airplane seats by cutting the depth requirement. My desk is great, but I’ve done multiple full days in a row elsewhere and it hasn’t been a problem.

I actually use this laptop book/stand/reader from Amazon to put fightsticks on.

I’m unsure of what you mean by ‘clocks’, but I do use a laptop stand. It’s this one; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPX2DBL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and sometimes I do prop it up.
This being said I played Dishonored the other night, and if my memory is correct the laptop never went above 70 degrees, so. Very odd that Muse Dash pushed it so much.

I’ve grown to love having a bed desk. I bought one on amazon and I’m currently talking with you from my laptop. It also is great for traveling and not having a desk at hand.
