What is a Craigslist or nearby zip code to search for used speaker options under $100?

New powered speakers:

If you need lowest budget then 4″ Edifier R1010BT $55 and they add Bluetooth built in for streaming music from your smartphone, tablet or computer.

Or 4″ Microlab Pro1BT $59 also have Bluetooth.

Or 4″ Edifier R1280DBs have Bluetooth and a subwoofer out jack however they cost $149 which is the same cost as 4″ Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale with Bluetooth, analog input, USB input for a computer, digital optical input for a TV, and a subwoofer output to connect a powered subwoofer. Or one size larger 5″ Neumi BS5P are $159.

New passive speakers:

The 5″ Polk T15 are passive and need an amp or receiver to power them.

However you can get a 6.5″ passive speaker and mini amp bundle for $67.

Or an improved version of the 6.5″ speakers Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 with included speaker wire powered by a $49 Moukey or Pyle mini amp with Bluetooth.

AT-LP3 with a built in phono stage preamp > powered speakers powered by the built in speaker amp.

Those Edifiers are both powered, look for the RCA inputs and power cord to know they are powered. Passive speakers only have a speaker wire connection. Pass on the R980T that only have volume control on the back mainly for computer use. If you want R980T priced speakers then Microlab Pro1BT $79 with Bluetooth, front volume control and a remote.

A worthwhile step above R1280T are Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale with Bluetooth, analog input, USB input for a computer, digital optical input for a TV, and a subwoofer output to connect a powered subwoofer.

All of the above are all small 4″ mid bass driver speakers for a small room or desktop setup.

Or get larger 6.5″ Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 with included speaker wire powered by a Pyle BDA20BT $48 with Bluetooth. Then you can later upgrade one part at a time.

Or what is a Craigslist or nearby zip code to search for used receiver and passive speaker options for $75 to $150?

Looks like Heyday BT speakers do not have a wired aux input. They will also be a sound quality bottleneck for a turntable as well as digital music.

An automatic Audio Technica turntable with Bluetooth built in costs $50 more than an Audio Technica turntable without Bluetooth so you may as well put that $50 towards a pair of $80 Microlab Pro1BT speakers for the turntable and they also have Bluetooth for streaming music from your smartphone.

Or the manual Crosley C6 or better 1byOne both have Bluetooth, both cost around $50 less than a comparable Audio Technica turntable and both add adjustable tracking force and a removable cartridge over the AT-LP60X or AT-LP60XBT.

What is your total turntable and speaker budget?

Pass on the 1byOne and AngelsHorn speakers that are not very good. Buy the turntable and better speakers separately.

If you don’t want to learn how to balance the tonearm and set the tracking force on a manual turntable then the AT-LP60X is easy setup beginner plug and play automatic turntable.

For entry level speakers:

Compact 4″ mid bass driver powered speakers for a small room:

  • Low budget Microlab Pro1BT $79 with Bluetooth.
  • Better Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale with Bluetooth, analog input for a turntable with built in or external phono stage preamp, USB input for a computer, digital optical input for a TV, and a subwoofer output to connect a powered subwoofer.

Or larger 6.5″ passive speakers and a mini amp: Then you can later upgrade one part at a time starting with the speakers.

The RT80 is similar to the 1byOne turntable. The RT80 adds auto stop and better customer service when you buy direct from Fluance.com.

The older RT81 is not worth buying since the newer improved RT82 for $50 more adds a $100+ increase in performance and component value since it adds the new optical sensor speed controlled motor for much lower wow and flutter and speed variation and the speed won’t drift since the sensor is monitoring the speed 400 times a second.

For a $400 budget you could get the RT82 plus a $19 Phono PP400 and the Microlab speakers. Then later upgrade the speakers up to the level of the turntable when your budget allows. Ideally spend just as much on speakers as on the turntable or buy a used receiver and passive speakers for half the price of new.

Or instead of the Microlab speakers larger 6.5″ Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 with included speaker wire powered by a Pyle PDA20BT $49 mini amp with Bluetooth. Then you can later upgrade one part at a time starting with the speakers.

Did some scouring for a gift for my girlfriend. My current budget is around $300-$400 but I am in college. I am looking at the Fluance RT80 or 81 (not sure on the difference) and these powered speakers. This is also another turntable which I found on this source as well as the speaker recommendation.

I used this source and this source for my current setup. I am open to advice and suggestions. I want to get it right before I buy.

The use would be casual play and not excessively all the time. I want to invest a little bit now so the vinyls will last and I don’t have to worry about the turntable as well.

How much are those? They are not worth spending any money on.

Ideally spend just as much on speakers as on the $99 turntable.

4″ Microlab Pro1BT $79 with Bluetooth.

Or Pyle PDA20BT $43 with Bluetooth plus 6.5″ Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 with included speaker wire. Then you can later upgrade one part at a time.

Speaker budget is under $150?

For the best value what is a Craigslist or nearby zip code to search for used options?

Instead of 4″ Edifier R1280DB for a small room:

  • Low budget 4″ Microlab Pro1BT $79 with Bluetooth may be just as good for lower cost than Edifiers.
  • Better 4″ Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale with Bluetooth adds USB and optical digital inputs and a subwoofer output jack.

Larger passive speakers and a mini amp: Then each part can later be upgraded one at a time.

  • Yamaha R-S202 ~~$149~~ $129 stereo receiver with Bluetooth.

Many TTL packages don’t make any sense and TTL is not the best place to buy from since they have a short 14 day return period, a possible restocking fee and no free or flat rate return shipping that some other retailers offer.

The AT-LP60X is ok to start with.

Those tiny 2.75″ mid bass driver A2 $269 speakers are basically computer type speakers for a small desk and are pricey for what they are or to start with.

There are some more appropriate and larger 4″ options for a small room at a lower price closer to the cost of the turntable:

Or larger 6.5″ passive speakers and a mini amp: Pyle PDA20BT $43 with Bluetooth plus 6.5″ Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 with included speaker wire.

Passive speakers need an amp, powered speakers have a built in amp.

Basic powered speakers under $100: 4″ Microlab Pro1BT $79 for a small room.

Over budget:

Better powered speakers for a small room, 4″ Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale.

Or larger 6.5″ passive speakers and a mini amp. Then each part can later be upgraded one at a time. Nobsound G3 $55 mini amp plus 6.5″ Dayton Audio B652 AIR $65 speakers with included basic speaker wire. Plus an RCA to 3.5mm adapter $5 for the amp to turntable connection.

Or get a better used stereo or AV receiver and used passive speakers. What is a Craigslist or nearby town or zip to search for used options?

If you want to listen to music and whatever is on your computer at the same time why not listen to music from your computer instead of your phone?

If you want to listen to audio from your computer and another audio source then you need a mixer and a Bluetooth receiver.

If you want Bluetooth in the speakers:

  • Low budget basic Microlab Pro1BT $79.
  • Or better 4″ Jamo S 801 PM ~~$299~~ $149 on sale with Bluetooth, analog input for a turntable with built in or external phono stage preamp, USB input for a computer, digital optical input for a TV, and a subwoofer output to connect a powered subwoofer.

Or larger passive speakers and a mini amp with Bluetooth, then each part can later be upgraded one at a time.
