Nope didn’t notice.

It did a good job and has a 4.5 star rating on amazon for what it’s worth.

What’s your budget? I bought this kit on Amazon for $15 and it comes with lube, a switch opener, and some lubing tools. Just search for “gpl 205g0” and you should be able to find plenty of options that are cheaper than Krytox. Maybe not way cheaper, but still cheaper. And if you need 105 grease, I’d suggest picking up a $5 bottle of Super Lube Multi-Purpose w/ PTFE.

Hello! I am very new to the MechanicalKeyboard world. I have always loved those keyboard (used them for over 10 years now) but I never jumped into the hobby.

I wasn’t sure if I should post here or create a new thread *wondering*

Now, I’d like to build my first one! I eat videos, posts, forums, tutorials, modding descriptions, etc. (You got the point) whole day for a whole week and I think I made my choices but since I am very new to it I’d like to have some feedback about if I am missing something or trying to buy incompatible elements and even advices on the tools I will be missing!

First thing to note: I am living in Canada, so I tried to only use what I could get from there and only ordered international when it was not available on the online sites I checked. I am also avoiding GroupBy because I don’t want to wait too long!

Second thing: I wanted to try that without going too hard first on my bank account, so that might be why you found my choices a bid weird 🙂

The tools I wanted to buy:

– Lube, switch opener, steam holder, lube in kit:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B097R46684/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_JE8W21G829N3AC6C6J5E (Should I buy Krytox on the side?)

– Keycap puller:

The 65% or 75% keyboard: (At first I wanted a 75% for the F keys when I am programming, but I found very few choices in Canada T_T)

– Case, PCB, Plate:

2 choices here: idobao id80 75% hot swappable

OR LTC NB681 Nimbleback 65% hot swappable

– Switch: (I followed Taeha chars here and ended up with that one)

Helio v2 (silent linear)

– Keycaps:

Pharaoh (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09FGSRN73/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_6W4WEGDVB4580RZC4F6W)

Sumy (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0992B4MQH/ref=cm\_sw\_em\_r\_mt\_dp\_4F4Q9KJ0PYS15JCMNF49)

– I already have some O Ring dampeners, would it be overkill to add them to the silent switches?

Thank you very much for all your answers and all your advices!!!!

Have a nice evening everyone!

Recently I bought a switch opener for cherry mx switches (1st link below,) and tried using it to open some outemu blues. I’ve been trying to open it and have watched a bunch of videos for the past half hour but it just doesn’t open. From what I know outemu’s are cherry mx clones so in theory the switch opener should work right? I plan to replace the switches soon with either tecsee purple panda’s (2nd link below) gateron yellows, or durock dark amber t1’s (3rd link below.) I’m not too worried about the outemu’s, but I am asking if the other switches I listed above will be compatible with the switch opener. Thanks.
