My spouse and I have Chiro-Flow pillows. You fill them with water to the desired firmness. These things have absolutely changed our lives. When we travel by car, we bring our pillows. When we travel by plane, we lament that we couldn’t (didn’t) bring our pillows.

The ones we purchased from our chiropractor (a good one, not a quack) have a lifetime guarantee. If they ever leak (which hasn’t happened in the 2+ years we’ve had them) we need to bring the cap into the chiropractor’s office. They’ll deal with the company to get us a new pillow free of charge.

So this probably isn’t BIFL quality but this is the pillow I have. The bottom part is water so it contours to your head/neck and the top is a soft layer. You can adjust how much water is in the bottom to change the height and firmness. I bought it because I sleep on my back/side/stomach and needed a pillow that would smush to my desired shape and fill that cavity under my neck no matter what position I was in.

I had very bad neck pain a few months ago and bought this pillow which you fill water with and my pain subsided immediately right after. Maybe worth a shot.
