I don’t think a mechanical “gaming” keyboard exists under that price. (I do recommend mechanical)

On the other hand, Nooppoo Lolita Spyder 87 is a good quality keyboard for the price and I would recommend it.

There’s a bunch of Asian keyboards with Kailh switches on Massdrop and sometimes Amazon for 60-75 dollars. The Noppoo Lolita Spyder is a popular one for about 55-60 dollars, depending on the switch type.

If you can give up the backlighting, check this out.

Also, brown, blue, red, clear, etc. switches are referring to different sounds/tactile feels. Reds are the quietest with little tactile feedback, brown is medium sound with hardy feedback, while blue is loud sound with little feedback, and clears are somewhere between brown and blue. Hope this helps.

Here’s a TKL with blue switches for $60: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T1P80XY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00. The build quality is great and the hovering keys are a plus. The only drawback is the Lolita logo (which is pretty subtle, so I don’t mind). I know a lot of people are thrown off by Kailh switches, but they’ve been working perfectly for me.

I’m using this keyboard right now and love it.

Just something to look into.

Most people from the discussion thread at Massdrop are saying that theirs came with scratches out of the box as well. I wanna say it’s with quality control… but who knows. Anywho, the Lolita Spyder 87 is available at Amazon with prime shipping for $66 so you can buy/break as much as you want

Found it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Mechanical-Keyboard-Noppoo-Lolita-Spyder/dp/B00T1P80XY

Had to be very careful with my search terms.

Its this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mechanical-Keyboard-Noppoo-Switches-backlit/dp/B00T1P80XY

If you can solder, you could replace the switches, but its a very low cost mech keyboard, and I doubt they are really Khail switches..

Noppoo Lolita is really tempting. Amazon only sells this one:http://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-Noppoo-Lolita-Spyder/dp/B00T1P80XY

Something more in line for what you’re looking for OP might be like this. The non led version is way cheaper for some reason.

anything tier 1/2 from here

i5 4460 and a cheap lga 1150 mobo.

a cheap 10 dollar dell keyboard is better than that 60 dollar rubber dome. if you’re spending 60, get this keyboard

If you’re okay with Kailh’s, the Noppoo Spyder 87 is $60.

You could buy two of mine for the cost of the keyboard/cover thing and still have money left over for a nice mouse.

I will give those ones a look

If you are ever interested in swapping your caps, Leopold’s have proprietary stem placement on their spacebar, which makes replacement very difficult.

If you’re new to mechanical keyboards, look up TKL size keyboards.
A few good entry level models:

Not sure if it will ship fast enough from Massdrop. I would go for the Lolita although I am not sure about Canadian availability.

this? Cheap and clicky. Great for a 10 year old.
