Help, I’ve been using the same headphones for 16 years and now they’re discontinued
· Budget – $200 USD
· Source – iPhone/PC
· Requirements for Isolation – I don’t need or prefer a lot of isolation, some would be nice but I need to be able to get a sense of someone getting my attention at work without them having to jump through hoops or slap me in the face
· Will you be using these Headphones in Public? I will be wearing them at my work, I won’t be in close proximity to anyone, but it is a shared space
· Preferred Type of Headphone – Over-ear headphones are my absolute favorite
· Preferred tonal balance – I guess overall balance would be preferred, I do listed to music and like bass with that but I also listen to a lot of podcasts and I don’t want the voices to get muddy
· Past headphones – in 2006 I found the only headphones I could find that didn’t hurt my ears the Panasonic RP-HTX7, and for 14 years whenever they broke, I would buy a new pair. I loved the style retro and colorful, the comfort I could wear them all day no problem, the smooth adjustability (no clicks) and they sat on my ears in a way that didn’t hurt which in 2006 was very hard to find. But sadly, they are discontinued and there’s so much to consider about headphones now that I’ve very overwhelmed
· Preferred Music – I listen to alt rock, and pop rock, the killers, dua lipa, Mother Mother, Tegan and Sara, Bastille, Nicki Minaj ect. Also a lot of D&D podcasts and movies and tv shows too.
· What would you like to improve on from your set-up –
- something that has style, retro style like my beloved Panasonics,
- I want really nice sound quality, not tinny or muddled,
- I’d love it if they were wireless (but I don’t know if that would be possible at my price point)
- I’m in a place where I can afford to buy something nice for myself and I’d like this to be a bit of a treat, something special that makes me feel special.
- I need to be able to wear them for the majority of my 40hr work week.
- Headphones I’ve been looking at and why I’m nervous about them
- Master & Dynamic MH40 (wired/Wireless)
- Pros
- ticks the stylish box in a big way
- looks like it’s good quality materials
- claims to have a good overall sound
- has a wireless version
- has a smooth no click adjustability
- Worries
- Too heavy for wearing 8hrs a day?
- wireless version is expensive
- Pros
- Cowin E7 Pro
- Pros
- Nice price
- Okay styling
- Wireless
- Worries
- Sound quality?
- Does the adjustability cause clicking?
- Are they too bulky
- Pros
- Panasonic RP-HTX90 Retro
- Pros
- Theoretically they should just be the wireless version of my favorite headphones
- Worries
- Lots of bad reviews across multiple websites and videos
- Pros
If you could help me either learn more about the 3 pairs, I’m considering or recommend something else I would really appreciate it. I am definitely over my head tying to find something to replace my go to headphones.

Update: Just found these half off as well:

Are the Master and Dynamic MH40s any good? I am planning to get the Sennheiser Momentums for around £220 ($320) but I really like the look of the MH40s which are around £320 ($460). Are they of similar sound quality and if so do you think the extra £100 is worth it?
