Issue with BakBlade is that it’s still disposable blades, you can only use them for so long, and if you have sensitive skin it will absolutely give you razor burn or ingrown hairs. Check out The Mangroomer

I mean, I know this is not what you’re asking here but in case you wanna try, I use a back shaver called Mangroomer. It was a game changer for me. It helps buzzing the hair of your back pretty good, but it’s not the clean shave you’re trying to avoid, so you still get your back hair as it grows again but looks a bit more neat and tidy than leaving it going wild. Then in about a month you just give it another go or so, depending on how often and short you want it.

Just wanted to recommend it in case it’s something you’d like to try instead of finding the perfect blend between back and neck! Otherwise hope someone gives better advice.

Here’s the thing if you wanna check

Waxing is painful and expensive and unnecessary.

About every other time I shower I shave my entire front except for a happy trail and also shave my back about once a week using this.

I don’t have a lot of back hair, but I use this to make it go away. Thanks Amazon!

It’s not that big of a deal for a lot of women. If it makes you uncomfortable, shave it or get it waxed. A lot of men do that.

Congratulations! You look great. I hope you continue to hit your fitness goals.

Also, fellow hairy guy here. If you’ve ever considered manscaping your back (and don’t want to deal with waxing, which is costly), I recommend this bad boy.

Before I started laser… well… basically everywhere – I tried shaving everywhere and it was a nightmare. It grew back so fast, constant bumps, itchy, etc. I settled on using a trimmer to closely trim the hair instead of shaving it. It wasn’t the smooth feeling as a result, but it REALLY helped with my dysphoria until I finally decided on laser.

If you can ignore the name, this works REALLY well: http://www.amazon.com/MANGROOMER-Ultimate-Shaver-Absorber-Extreme/dp/B00FULYKG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432771548&sr=8-1&keywords=mangroomer+back+shaver

If he doesn’t want to wax (something I’d never do), you should tell him to check out the Mangroomer. I’ve been using it for a few years now and it works very well.

That guy does the job pretty well, it’s not a razor shave but at least I don’t look like Bigfoot.

This bad boy…
Works a charm. Honestly I had someone ask if my ma gave birth to me or knit me before so I got one of these.
Does the job!

Here’s a back trimmer for solo back shaving. $45 is steep for me, but maybe it’s worth it to you?

Another alternative with an equally cringe-worthy name if you’re worried about blades/cuts and not afraid to go in for a wax afterwards…

I’ve tried shaving, waxing, epilating, chemical removal, and electric trimmers. Here are my opinions (YMMV):

Shaving: Fast and easy. Shave in the shower. Occasionally get a nick here or there if I’m rushing, but honestly if you are semi-careful you won’t cut yourself. The bad part is razor burn (at least the first few times you shave) and those red shaving bumps as the hair grows back through the skin. Keeping the skin pulled tight and using witch hazel (or other after-shaving solution) should help. Another drawback is that the smoothness doesn’t last very long. If you’re like me you have to shave almost daily to not have significant stubble the second day. This is what I do on my of my “sensitive areas”.

Waxing. It’s painful the first time. It gets much less painful after. The plus is that it lasts for a couple weeks before things start getting stubbly again. The bad is that there is that it tends to develop a lot of ingrown hairs. You can try the at-home wax kits, but honestly you’ll be a lot happier just going to a salon and having them do it. It’s faster, less mess and the end result will probably be a lot better. You really have to hold the skin tight (especially around tender areas) or you risk bruising. I do this every couple months for legs/back.

Epilating. OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH! If you think waxing hurts, just wait until you try an epilator. It’s faster than waxing, but slower than shaving. I’d sooner pluck individual hairs than use an epilator ever again.

Chemical removal. Have done this a few times. It takes about 10-15 minutes and you can do a large area. Not for those with sensitive skin or have a sensitive nose (they generally smell bad). It does a decent job. It’s similar to shaving, but doesn’t seem to cause as many red bumps — but it also doesn’t seem to last as long. I definitely have stubble by the end of the first day, and given the chemical effect on skin, it’s not really something you can use daily. I do this every 4-5 days to my chest/tummy area.

Electric Trimmer. You can use an electric trimmer on some areas that are hard to reach (back, butt, etc.) Depending on the trimmer they can get very close to the skin (it won’t be smooth, but it certainly is better than nothing). It’s pretty quick with low risk of cutting yourself (depending on the trimmer). This thing http://www.amazon.com/MANGROOMER-Ultimate-Shaver-Absorber-Extreme/dp/B00FULYKG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410704740&sr=8-1&keywords=mangroomer+back+shaver does a decent job and lets you reach places you couldn’t get alone. I use this to trim up my backside whenever it needs it.

My buddy told me about the Mangroomer back shaver and I’ve been so happy ever since. Seriously, to any of you who have back hair that needs trimming weekly or more, buy this amazing product and you’ll thank me later.

There’s a base trimmer to trim down the hair and a second head to shave you down to a stubble, the battery will last at full power for almost an hour and a half, more than enough time to last your whole trimming time.

Love you Mangroomer!
