My recommendation and what I did is have a mattress encasement and then a mattress protector on top that can be easily removed and cleaned. Plus it gives double protection. They also make some encasements that the top section unzips off for easy cleaning. Here is an example of the kind that the top section can be removed.
I went with Sure Guard on Amazon and have no issues. My main reason for picking them was that its Greenguard Gold certified (meets stringent VOC emissions limits) similarly the Safe Rest you got is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified which tests for various harmful and potentially harmful substances. Here is the King mattress protector. The encasement depends on the depth of your mattress as there are four size ranges from 6” all the way up to 20”.
I also recommend box encasements.
