You need to bypass your laptop audio chip. The link above is just an example of what would do the job, I have not used it. You know your own requirements as to portability, budget, futsiness, etc.

Have you found how to make it work? I’m about to buy something like a micro dac to see if I can make it work. Keep us posted with your progress!
