You can remap modifier keys in macOS so that the command key is next to the spacebar and the option key is the Windows key to make it a bit easier. But I would also recommend grabbing the Logitech MX Keys, which can be paired with three different computers, is smart enough to know which OS you’re currently using and has both key labels on each of the modifier keys.

I bought one of these with the “upgrade your home office” stipend work gave me back in April. Very happy with it, to the point that I’d buy it again even if I had to spend my own money on it.

USB-C rechargeable, backlit, and has a real nice heft to it, so even though it’s small, it resists sliding around my desk.

I was using a 10 keyless keyboard for years but recently switched to a Logitech MX Keys. I really really appreciate the num pad now. Fantastic slim wireless keyboard.

Never seen them being used personally. I prefer a full keyboard. I use this guy.

Those looks similar to the keycaps used on older thinkpads, often referred to as 7 row thinkpad keyboards. Unfortunately, newer thinkpads adopted the “flat” style that is pretty ubiquitous now.

I don’t know of an exact match for what you’re looking for. The MX Master Keys is quite popular and the best option I could think of off the top of my head, but the keycap shape isn’t the same at all, the battery isn’t user-replaceable, and the price is a bit steep. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S92QBCJ/

OP’s keyboard is the Logitech MX Keys

Edit: I have a Logitech MX keys as well and its a great keyboard. I sometimes wish they had it without the numpad, but Im still very happy with it.

If mechanical is not necessary, then the Logitech MX Keys [non-aff. link] would be my pick for that price.

What you’re describing are common complains of a membrane keyboard – sluggish feel, unresponsive, etc. This shouldn’t exactly cause fatigue, I would wager that you’re experiencing that due to poor ergonomics. If your keyboard has feet underneath it, try collapsing them and seeing if that feels better. If typing on your surface book is more comfortable, you may enjoy a more “flat” keyboard.

As far as switches go, reds will probably be ideal for you. They have the lowest resistance at 45g to activate, and they don’t have a tactile bump or click. Like the other guy said, there are also low profile switches in case short travel distance is what appeals to you with the surface book over your current keyboard.

You might also just be one of those weird people who prefer a “chiclet” style keyboard, in which case looking into one of those may be a good idea. There are some quality ones out there like this Logitech keyboard.

Kinda pricey, but the Logitech Wireless MX (amazon US, sadly) is really very nice.

The (much) cheaper Logitech K270 is pretty good too, if you just want a keyboard.

For mice, I use an Anker "vertical" mouse to combat my otherwise awful desk posture. IDK how big your hands are, but it is definitely larger than a lot of the current wireless mice.

Sure thing 🙂 just one more thing, to make sure; is this the right keyboard?

This Logitech MX Keys keyboard detects the OS and the keys work as expected without modifications. It’s excellent.

Noted, though this keyboard is Bluetooth, not “Wireless”, as they show a distinction (in the compared products down on the page here)?

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Advanced-Wireless-Illuminated-Keyboard/dp/B07S92QBCJ/

I think I only ever use bluetooth headphones (connected to phone, which is nearby), and possibly this bluetooth keyboard… so I can’t see it causing so much trouble.

And note this post talks about Bluetooth interference:
