Lurker here that spends time in PC building subreddits. I just got this keyboard for gaming (yes, I know, it’s Logitech, which is sometimes frowned upon). My questions/comments in which I’m looking for advice on are:
- This keyboard is LOUD as hell. I didn’t know the difference between Clicky and Tactile when purchasing, and went the Clicky route (was cheaper). What is the least loud type of keyboard. Is it Linear?
- I’m coming from typing on a 2018 Macbook Pro and HP Zbook x360 G5, both of which are laptops and obviously have different keyboards. I’m sure the functionality of their keyboards is “inferior” to that of a full desktop mechanical keyboard, but to be honest, I’m having a hard time adjusting to the taller keys of this desktop mechanical keyboard. Will this go away with time as I adjust? Or are there lower profile gaming keyboards I could consider? I’m no streamer nor super hardcore gamer by any means, and played on a laptop keyboard before, so am wondering if it’s better to stick with what I know.
- So many keyboards seem out of stock. I’m assuming this is due to shortages from COVID production issues or the holiday retail rush. Is this reasonable and should I wait a few weeks for stock to rebalance, or is it always this hard to find in-stock keyboards?
- I wanted to stick with Logitech because I picked up a gaming mouse from them that I like, and think it makes sense to have the mouse + keyboard from the same manufacturer. That said, I’m within the return period for both the mouse + keyboard, so wanted to see if anyone had thoughts on other gaming keyboards (+ mouse) that aren’t super loud nor expensive, but are of the same brand/model line.
Thanks friends!

Same price on Amazon, it seems

How do you like the 512SE?
I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, and it has a nice discount on Amazon, I might go for the clicky one, I tried out the RoamerG once and didn’t quite like it
