Ooh…been there, done that. I almost wondered if the cure/medicine was worse than the thrush. But goodness, though, thrush REALLY hurts.

I use this purifier for my bedroom and it is a LIFE SAVER:

I’ve used it for about a month since my really old purifier died, and I HIGHLY recommend it. It moves air well, it made it helps with allergies/asthma, it has a display that lets you turn off the lights, and you can supposedly even hook it up to your phone, though I haven’t done that yet.

Haha thank you! It’s a levoit filter actually. Allegedly puts out 99.97% at 0.3 so here’s hoping it goes well lol.

Well crap, I guess I celebrated too soon. My fan will not auto power on once the outlet sends power. I have to manually push the power button.

Looks like I need have to get a smart air filter if I want to get this fully auto 😕

Ah thanks for asking! The home automation subreddit is a lot of people building massive systems and I’m still out here just tryin to get switches to function 😂

I’ve got a Levoit in my kitchen and it’s Alexa enabled so I can turn it off/on and change fan speed from my phone or by voice. Only maintenance is replacing the filter (around 1 a year). It’s quiter than my mini fridge and my ceiling fan. I can hear in the next room but not across the house. I have it set up on the schedule for post-cooking as air quality in the kitchen was a concern for me.

So the best way to maximize a smart house is energy consumption. Being able to put all appliances on a system on a schedule can reduce cost, as electricity for me is more expensive at certain times of the day. I don’t have all that sort of fancy stuff like a Dream Smart House should have (energy saving blinds and awnings, etc)

I really love being able to turn things on and off by voice or phone. I’ve got a lot of lights that aren’t easy to get to (Xmas lights, some lights that have got weirdly positioned switches) and the smart outlets and switches solve all that. Being able to put my Xmas lights on a controlled system that I could turn on/off is great. I’ve got different routines for different brightness (aka this is work lights, this is movie watching lights). Also, being able to control fans and A/C without getting out of bed is pure luxury.

The issue is some things have fail safe switches that smart outlets don’t work with. For instance, I’ve got a humidifier that I can’t turn off/on by a smart outlet. So a smart outlet is kinda of useless and I just need to buy a smart humidifier when this one breaks if I want to put it on a schedule.

I’ve been extensively researching this subject as well. I have a multi generational home so I want the air to be as pure as possible without ozone.

Yeah they’re plugins. I have a couple levoit purifiers and a toshiba. They aren’t perfect and I still have to clean them at least weekly, but it makes a huge difference vs not having any at all.

I bought two air purifiers today: a Levoit Core 200S for the bedroom and a Core 400S for the living room. 200S was $18 off, 400S was $44 off.

Looks like the 200S works with Home Assistant but the 400S doesn’t yet – but someone edited some code to enable it.
