Note that the manufacturer have increased the price for the filter replacement. Back then, it was $25~ish but now it’s $50+.

Even though Conway say the filter can last for 1 year, it may not be the case in your area. Mine is black colored after just 6 months and I have to replace it (I have 3 of em).

So now I have the Levoit since the filter is $50 for 2 packs. Seems to work as good as Coway based on the report from my IQAir sensor.

but idk if the bigger one might do better, its the mother of all overkill, at 1000 square feet for my 250 square-foot apartment, but is overkill better in this case?

I’ve had this Levoit one for a few months now and like it a lot. I can’t say I’ve noticed a huge difference in my asthma or allergies but I’ve other air purifiers before and felt the same way. I think of air purifiers more as a cleaner option to a fan than something that will “purify” the room because obviously not puffier will get everything out of the air

Also, good luck on keeping the bird! Personally mine loves to chew paper.. I give him a notebook and he’ll chew it up. I have to pretty much watch him so he doesn’t eat the paper. Anyways, I wish you luck on your trip to getting a bird.

Has soon as you get him/her home make sure to leave them in a quiet room for atleast a day to get them used to their new home.
All SEED diet is NOT a good diet for them, Start having him eat veggies, fruit and Pellets. ( Search up a good list for birds)
Get as many toys as you’re able to and make sure to rotate them out so the bird can learn to have a ‘favorite’ toy.
If you’re going to be keeping him in a certain room more often I would suggest you get this as it’ll help you ALOT in the long run since Cockatiel’s are more dusty than others.(They have a dust coat on their feathers.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06W54K29J

Never have him near the kitchen or near any fumes(ex: cleaning products, candles, paint fumes, ect) Anything not natural is TOXIC/DEADLY to birds.. The kitchen has the most fumes out of all your house.(Don’t smoke near your bird)

Note: Getting your bird to eat new food might not be easy, All birds are different. The key is to be consistent.

Always leave the cage door open when you’re around, if needed tie or leave it open.(I personally did this when I first got my bird) If you do this, your bird won’t feel “bound” to his cage, Mine comes out literary every single day on his own. I open his door at 5:30 am and close at 8:30 pm when he sleeps.

(I suggest you buy a small 20$ cage for your bird and when you’re home you put him in the small cage and take him outside with you(WATCH HIM) to feel and breathe the fresh air.)

I have one of these in every room. I have little ones, so it made me extra paranoid. We’re on Alum Rock, like 2 miles from the San Jose country club. The smoke smell was pretty bad yesterday and the purifier did a good job.
