I had an endoscopic discectomy at l4-l5 and l5-s1 5 weeks back. I’m 23 M and a software engineer, can’t really sit for > 5 mins. Did you mean you work on a laptop? And is it possible to WFH? I recently bought this desk and helps a lot although typing is a bit difficult. Might be helpful for you. All the best!

If you have money to spend, then Ergoquest has some good options.

I work lying down, either on a couch or in bed. I have a cheap laptop tray that works well in bed, but if you need dual monitors, that probably won’t work.

I can’t sit down at all, so this is a challenge I understand.

I do most of my work laying down, either on a couch, or on a bed in my office.

I have to be sort of careful, because propping my head up on pillows sometimes causes neck pain. Now I use this little laptop tray, which allows me to work with my head at a comfortable angle.

I also have a treadmill desk, and rigged up a standing desk, but if you have plantar fasciitis that probably won’t work for you.

In case you’re interested, I have photos of my office setup at: My New Home Office Is Sitting Disability Approved.
