Mine has a cold-light LED ring and powers off of my USB port on my computer. I tend not to use it for drybrushing or other sealing or any “sloppy” brush work but any time I have to paint with precision I’ll slip the mini under the lens for a better view. I’d suggest holding on to the other lamp for a bit. Having a second good source of light in your work area is huge, it helps to break up the shadows and better illuminate your space.
