Those are 2 different products, the first is from the Toleriane line which is meant for people with sensitive/reactive skin. The second is from the Effaclar line which is meant for acne prone skin.

I use the effaclar cleanser you linked and I love it to pieces as it has never irritated my skin despite the fact I have very reactive skin.

There are other Toleriane cleansers on amazon italia, if you want to stay within that line. https://www.amazon.it/Toleriane-Purifying-Foaming-Cleanser-Normal/dp/B01N34XW93 That was the one you wanted, but it doesn’t seem to be available and I didn’t see it on LRP’s Italian site so I presume they are no longer producing it.

My skin is type 2 and was extremely bumpy, touching it felt like I was reading braille. I spent a decade believing it’s regular acne, and the subsequent treatments made my rosacea even worse, of course.

This progress is after 5 treatments of IPL starting in about April 2020, as well as metrogel that I’ve been using since February. The metro gel made my skin extremely smooth and eliminated bumps within 2 weeks. I also use spironolactone which eliminated my hormonal acne.

My routine is very minimal now. I miss using over 10 fancy cute Korean skin care topicals, but it was a fruitless effort. Now I only use 3-4 products, they’re boring but I’ve learned to love that and its extremely convenient.

I still have progress to make, I’d like to handle my scarring for example. But what makes me feel better is seeing it as a marathon, not a sprint.

Products:

Vanicream Lite

Metrogel

A Korean Nivea sunscreen (chemical sunscreen)

I only wash my face with water unless I’m wearing makeup, in which case I double cleanse with La Roach Pussy’s foaming toleriane cleanser and a Korean jojoba oil cleanser.

Photos are in the exact same lighting, room, angle.

Just bought La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser for normal to oily skin. I generally have normal skin but get oily depending where I’m at on my menstrual cycle (e.g. right now I am a little oilier than usual because I am near my ovulation period). For those with normal skin, does this LRP product dry your face out a lot?

This cleanser does a pretty good job with oily skin and doesn’t leave the skin too dry afterwards.

Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser .

There are two versions, one is like a cream cleanser and the other is a foaming kind.

I don’t know about those other ones, but the two I use (hydrating cleanser and foaming cleanser) don’t have SLS in them.

I don’t think it matters if you mix the two. When in doubt I usually just wait a few minutes between applying things. Usually I do this:

In the morning:
Wash with lukewarm water & La Roche Posay Purifying Foaming Cleanser (this)
Then apply a dime size of The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% (this). Let that sink in for a couple minutes.
Then apply a couple pumps of the Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 (this).

In the evening:
Wash with the same cleaner as the morning.
Then apply a dime size of the Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% (this). Wait like 10 minutes for it to sink in.
Then apply couple pumps of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (this).

It’s a pretty easy and cheap routine that works for me (pretty normal slightly sensitive pale skin late 20s). If I’m going to be outside more I use a heavier sunscreen but this is my everyday routine… and right now I’m mostly inside working from home.

The general rule seems to be that if something is abrasive (a retinol or acid of some kind) then you must use sunscreen over it or apply it at night.

Can someone suggest a skincare routine (beginner) for me? I’m a 30 years old man with oily skin. Yes, I’ve tried researching online but there are so many brands and options that I don’t know what to do.

Right now I’m using La Roche-Posay Toleriane Face Wash Cleanser twice a day, together with The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and also Anthelios Clear Skin Oil Free Sunscreen SPF 60 when going out.

It there anything else that I should be doing?

Somebody else suggested a La Roche product too (I believe the Posay Effaclar Duo).

I have very oily skin so maybe i’ll get this Roche Posay cleanser instead (https://www.amazon.com/Roche-Posay-Toleriane-Purifying-Foaming-Cleanser/dp/B01N34XW93/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=la+roche+posay+toleriane+gentle+hydrating+cleanser&qid=1617163427&sr=8-2)..

Is this the epiduo you were talking about? (https://pharmacy.amazon.com/Epiduo-Adapalene-Benzoyl-Peroxide-Topical/dp/B08512FTLD?ref=sr_1_1&keywords=epiduo&qid=1617163549&sr=8-1)

Unfortunately I can’t find olehenriksen on Amazon so I guess i’ll just buy it off their website and hope their shipping doesn’t take 2 weeks lol.

I might skip the yout to the people moisture cream since my skin is very oily. I don’t know..

Paula’s choice super booster is kind of on the expensive side so I might skip that one too unless you REALLY think it’ll make a difference. I don’t mind spending extra bucks if it’s a big factor.

Let me know what you think!
