Okay, that article does a lot to explain some of my problems and can definitely explain some of the issues that I’m having with my set up.

So, go get into further details this is the whole set up that I had gotten with the intent of plugging everything in and switching back and forth between my desktop and laptop.

I wanted to genuinely thank you for the help and the explanation as well as that article. It explains a huge amount of what the potential problem is, and it seems like it might be a power problem for both the KVM as well as the cables being used. They might not be providing the power through pin 20 as mentioned in that article which can explain the odd power-save no signal mode my monitor is going into.
