Those should be fine to combine. If you choose to try multiple, you may want to stagger them out to get a feel for which works best for you, since everyone’s skin is its own special little snowflake. Or you can YOLO it and pile them all on, if you want.
Vitamin C does help (I really like the OST C20), and AHA/BHA exfoliants help fade hyperpigmentation spots. However, you have to be careful with those because they can mess up your skin if you overuse them. So I wouldn’t jump in with them until you know your skin’s in good enough shape to take harsher products.
It’s generally recommended to reapply sunscreen every two hours if you’re getting constant sun exposure or being active. If you’re inside most of the day (away from windows, or with coated windows) and not sweating a lot, though, you are probably okay.
Oh yeah, and wash your face at the end of the day if you use sunscreen. Sunscreens are formulated to stay on your face for a while, so an oil cleanser will break them down. (This cleansing oil supposedly has a whitening effect, but I don’t see any ingredients that would make that happen.)

I use Kose’s white cleansing oil (https://www.amazon.com/KOSE-Softy-White-Cleansing-Oil/dp/B000V2FB7Y) but r/asianbeauty has a lot of recs for them.

You can do whatever your skin likes. On days you don’t physically exfoliate, use the lactic 1x a week and work from there. But it doesn’t sound like your routine isn’t working so why even switch to chemical exfoliation? This sub isn’t a fan of physical exfoliation but there are countless posts of people over exfoliating their skin from chemical exfoliants.

I do think starting slow with acids is best to figure out what your skin can handle. I use retin-a and can’t physically exfoliate more than 1x a week; it irritates my skin but then I can use a chemical exfoliant every day so it just depends on your skin.

New to Reddit so I apologize in advance if my post looks a bit off.
My first AB purchase was a bottle of Kose White cleansing oil on Oct 1st that I bought off Amazon from the seller Samurai Japan and it finally came last Tuesday. My bottle looks just like the Amazon listing picture.

I’m having trouble getting it to emulsify and wash off clean.I apply 1-2 pumps dry as an oil, massage, and when I add water it turns into a sticky white mess. It feels like trying to wash off a thick layer of Vaseline with water. The only way I have managed to get it off is to wipe it onto a washcloth or a paper towel. I have tried wetting my hands to just add a little water to emulsify and I have tried going all in straight to washing my face both to the same result. I have also tried shaking the bottle. In addition, I have tried adding the cleansing oil to wet hands and it does turn milky and wash off but in between my fingers, which were not as wet, it became the white glue. I have pictures if it helps of my right hand when I applied it dry then added water and it turned white and sticky and of my left hand where I added the oil straight to wet hands and this looks how I believe it should look, milky and non-sticky.

I haven’t been able to find other threads where people have had the same problem so are there any tips to getting this cleansing oil to emulsify, or is it because it spent too long in customs, or did I just get a bad bottle? Thanks for the help.
