Hello everyone! I was in the market for a lightweight gel type moisturizer as summer approaches. Heard lots of good things about the Mizon Snail Gel Recovery Gel Cream in the pink tube. Peach & Lily is sold out of it at the moment – does anyone know if this seller on Amazon is legitimate or has had experience with them? Their store is called "Mod My Beauty". Their price for a two pack is so reasonable it makes me raise an eyebrow but I am new to the AB game.

Sorry for the late reply! Like the poster above, I get my Mizon products from Amazon as well. IIRC, Amazon usually sells a 2 pack of the Recovery gel for super cheap. Do you know if your skin tolerates snail? The first AB product that I ordered was Mizon Snail Recovery Gel and I’ll probably have it on hand forever. I have acne and dry skin during the winter and this has been a great product for me. It’s very light but very moisturizing. If one layer isn’t enough, you can always do a second, but I rarely need to.

I use to cry about my skin so often. I was very cystic and it was so so painful and my face would swell up from all the inflamed pores, owwie. Being upset about it is normal. Just use that energy from those emotions for steady progress instead of drastic change. It’s a good motivator to care that much.
I just read down the rest and yep looks like there is a group consensus. Hey that’s what communities like this are for, sometimes you get tunnel vision and just an adjustment. It’s really good that there is an obvious fix though. You have a lot you can try and aren’t even close to being out of options. It’s a very positive thing in all this. I like snail goop moisture, its super great for my acne!

It looks like you can get a two-pack for only a dollar more than the one in your link.
I’m just unsure if I want to get into snail products because I don’t know how I feel about it. Do they need to put the snails through extra stress to (electric shocks, shaking, etc.) in order to produce more of their excretion?

Some fairly inexpensive but widely raved about products you could try (No affiliate link or anything)
- Mizon snail recovery gel amazon pack of 2 for 10$
- Sunscreens like the ones from biore (also available on amazon)
- Low ph cleansers like the Cosrx low ph cleanser or Tosowoong enzyme powder wash
- Naruko US sells some amazing sheet mask boxes that are fairly cheap (10$ for a box of 10) if you are into sheet masks and would like to try something new.

I haven’t heard of the BHA-claymask-Oil cleanse method. I actually don’t have much need to oil cleanse, as I don’t wear makeup or sunscreen (Bad girl! BAD!) and the Good Morning Cleanser works as both a 1st and 2nd cleanser (2 in 1 bonus! Score!). I am working to get better with the sunscreen, but only just got in my first 2 this week.
The blackhead liquid does kinda sit on my skin, but I feel like that’s kinda what it’s supposed to do – soften the oil plugs so my AHA can be more effective. That’s also why I cleanse again after using it.
I do use (and love) kaolin clay and masks. The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 cleanse/scrub/mask I mentioned before is one of my HGs. I use it while in the shower about once a week: scrub it on, let it sit while I wash the rest of me (it does have a strong tea tree smell and gets tingly on your skin, but I like that) then scrub it a little more before washing it off. After getting out of the shower, I use the pH adjusting toner, then add my BHA liquid and let it sit. I will admit, I have no idea what the pH of this product is, and don’t have a way to test it myself. I find that after this routine (Body Shop TT 3-in-1 or the GM cleanser, BHA, AHA, warm water scrub) my blackheads and SFs are drastically reduced. It was actually pretty shocking to me the first time I did it – I was looking in the mirror going, The pores on my nose are gone!!! lol
I can’t really tell you what to get – Sorry! But getting the Green Tea samples is definitely worth it, as if you don’t like it, you’re not out very much $. Fortunately, both the Mizon Snail and TonyMoly Green Tea are pretty cheap. The Snail comes in a 2-pack on Amazon for $17, or one for $11. The Green Tea samples linked above are super cheap (<$2), and the full size is only $13 on YesStyle or RRS.
Like with most K-beauty products, a little goes a long way with both.
if you live in a dryer environment (or your skin is crazy dehydrated and thirsty like mine!), maybe go for both, or maybe try the Green Tea in the Skin or Essence. I can’t choose between the two because they do different things – The Green Tea is plumping and hydrating, and the Snail is pigment-reducing and healing (and occlusive, but not greasy).

Did I receive counterfeit Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream from Amazon? I bought [this listing] from [this seller].
There are a few things tipping me off: firstly, the packaging says 80% of snail secretion filtrate, not 74% like official images say; secondly, there was no silver sticker whatsoever on either of the boxes; thirdly, the product smells vaguely fermented alcohol-y (kinda like hard cider); and lastly, the tube-top has rounded corners, whereas every picture I’ve seen of the legitimate product has a straight edge.
So: have I been duped? And if so, what do I do from here? 🙁

Snail-bee is a bit too much for me, I think. You can get the Snail recovery Gel for 2 for ~$12 so it’s the one most often recommended.
It’s definitely not moisturizing enough, even for me, but it works as a nice “sealer” at night time. Plus since it’s so cheap I can SLATHER my face in it and not feel guilty.
Edit: Also!! Tracy at fanserviced-b has oily skin, so her reviews might help you more than others.
