The reds are considered best by most people for gaming but not typing, due to the nature of key presses in games.

This is the half+ gaming keyboard I use. My chair allows me to have full arm support and space the arms out (not V style like some chairs cheat method). So I can sit “throne style” and keep the extra 1/2 gaming board more or less in line with the left arm of my chair. My desk surface is in line with the chair arm too so I am supported along my whole arm and with a pad under my wrist.

They make a newer one with full RGB but it’s only 23 keys where mine is 43. I wouldn’t be interested in the 23 key one.

I have some custom textured keycaps on it in places (my personal movement key config). Every key is user definable software-wise and can even do macros which is handy for things like setting up a crouch toggle key in games that don’t have one, or auto run, etc. It can switch between profiles on the fly using function key.

My other additional two half+ keyboards are also from the same company, koolertron. I had to wait on shipping on the browns as amazon only stocked blues and reds I think at the time. On the typing keyboard I replaced all of the letter keys and a few otherkeys with custom red keycaps and left the rest the stock black keycaps (with no writing on top).

It’s changed even since then with some of the hardware (mic, screens, midi controller, etc) and peripheral layout.. Now I’m redoing the pc case, room, and getting a new desk .. at least eventually.. so I’ll have to update pics after I overhaul everything again.

I’ve used other “Gaming boards” on the left side, a G13 gameboard for several years especially but the half+ keyboard gives me 43 keys and is mechanical, high quality so was a major upgrade on the game board side. I’ve been using this setup keyboard wise now since 2019.

I love the koolertron split keyboards but if I was starting from before I invested in them I’d also consider a moonlander as my middle typing keyboard.
