I went back and forth on something similar. I ended up with a sofa and queen. I liked the idea of a trundle but hated all the frames. I also decided against dealing with the extra bedding, and we didn’t want our bathroom in our bnb to get overwhelmed or guests that want to squeeze in like sardines. Our area doesn’t attract that crowd anyway.

Ultimately, I brought a queen frame that can accommodate a trundle in the future. The one I bought is out of stock, but they make a frame that fits beneath.
