I really am happy with it. I’ve had it since Christmas and it is the best investment I’ve made in a while. I bounced between used and cheap turntables for a couple of years. But now that I could afford to put down the $250, I am glad that I did. I more or less followed the recommendation of this sub for it that, so I have no idea how it compares to other turntables.

I am thinking about going with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AMAJG8U/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1BVYXEL822RF0

It covers my needs well and would be one device. What do you think?

What do you mean by google fiber? The internet service or chrome(cast/audio)? The easiest solution would be to get a cheapish receiver and a decent set of speakers. Then you would need a fiber optic cable from the TV to the receiver and you would be set. This is not the best solution performance wise. What you should do imo is get the Kanto Yumi bookshelves which have good sound quality, will get loud enough, has boatload of connections, and a remote. All you would need is a optical cable from the TV to the Kantos. It also has bluetooth for when you want to easily play music. If you want to push up to your budget you can get a dac to clean up the signal from your TV but this is not absolutely necessary. This is the solution I would go as it is under budget, stupid simple to set up, easy to use, and has a plethora of color options to please the wife. Let me know if you have any questions or need clarification!

I just got the Kanto Yumi’s and very happy with them. I think their MSRP is supposed to be slightly higher than the Yu5 but they’re currently marked cheaper. Excellent sound and you can’t beat the connections/functionality. Really nice having great speakers with everything built it. Huge sound, bass is good and adjustable, sub out.

Some of the reviews talk about a “buzz,” you’ll notice all those reviews are years old. Supposedly it’s been fixed, mine definitely don’t have a buzz.

that is actually a pretty good budget. unless you go with powered speakers, you cannot wire the speaker directly to the speakers. you will need to plug your cable box into an audio receiver that can then power the speakers. here are my 2 cents with 2 options.

option 1 (the 1 step lazy method): kanto yumi powered https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AMAJG8U?th=1
plug them directly into the cable box with rca cable or optical cable (which ever your cable box supports) and then use an optical cable to plug in the xbox one. and it comes with a remote.

option 2 (the 3 step lazy method): this is the audio receiver and speaker combo mentioned above. i would recommend these fluance signature speakers.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A5UI5V0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1470320760&sr=sr-1&keywords=fluance+signature&linkCode=sl1&tag=zeos-20&linkId=c46d55896cf9806f3f8022920284e0e4

then i recommend this receiver Yamaha 2 channel reciever with remote.
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-R-S201BL-2-Channel-Stereo-Receiver/dp/B00F0H88SY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475647686&sr=8-1&keywords=stereo%2Breceiver&th=1

you will need rca to connect receiver to cable box. then speaker wire like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006LW0WDQ/ref=pd_bxgy_23_img_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=8DSKD4D1DZWKXZW6XNCT
to plug speakers into receiver.
to plug the xbox one into the receiver you will need a optical to rca converter like this one. https://www.amazon.com/Portta-PETDTAP-Digital-Coaxial-Converter/dp/B005DIRI6I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1475649536&sr=8-4&keywords=optical+to+rca

this method is a little more complex but will get louder than option 1 and would personally go with this option.
