Hey there!
I just came over your reddit post from a few months ago about you purchasing the HD 650’s and I was hoping you could help a first time headphone buyer out 🙂 I’m too scared to ask r/headphones due to my lack of knowledge on all things.
Right now I’m unsure of what to buy/ let alone what every thing does. I purchased a pair of HD 650’s and am unsure of where to go next.
I hear terms like amplifier, DAC, sound card, etc. thrown around and have no idea what does what. I do everything from my laptop and was wondering what cables/ gear I need to embark on my audiophile experience 🙂

What do I need to know about this/ is it good enough?

I’m a rather inexperienced audiophile and I’m very out of my league here lol, but I got a pair of Sennheiser HD650’s for Christmas. I’ve been listening to them on my iPhone, which I’m getting the impression is a cardinal sin, but I’ve been saving up for the JDS Labs Objective 2 + ODAC Combo and I figured I’d ask for second opinions before I made the purchase. I’m looking for something that I can use for my iPhone, but I’m open to something for my laptop. I don’t have the money or the patience to save up for a super expensive amp and a super expensive DAC. 😛
I’ve seen suggestions for the Bottlehead Crack, but again, I’m inexperienced with this and I’m not sure if it’s the kind of thing I should even be looking at. The price looks reasonable but it appears it’s just an amp, and I want a DAC as well. But I may not even know what I’m talking about, haha.
