[JAMO S801PM(https://www.amazon.com/Jamo-801-powered-monitors-black/dp/B07RCHZ62F/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=powered+speakers&qid=1639965870&sr=8-13) would be good and at a very reasonable price compared to some of the available Klipsch powered speakers.
I run a pair of 130.00 Edifiers but suspect the JAMOS are a better speaker.
Fluance also makes nice powered monitor speakers. Just check “powered speakers” at Amazon. These are all a far cry better than your typical Bestbuy PC speakers. 🙂

I recently purchased the Jamo S 801 PM bookshelf speakers. I paired those with the Fosi Audio Box X2 pre-amp and connected an OSD Audio S10 sub that I had sitting around. I couldn’t be happier with the setup. Turntable is a Pioneer PL-530.

You can do a lot worse. If you’re looking to shave dollars, there are options on powered speakers with BT: Jamo and I have Edifier but don’t think (or know) either of these is superior to Audioengine’s. Also Fluance has powered, but looks like they’re sold out right now. I would also shop around used on FB marketplace/craigslist.
For best audio fidelity, going analog is the way to go I’ve been told, so getting a receiver with two-way speakers.
At $800, you’ll have a bunch of really good options especially if you shop used and score on quality equipment for cheap.

Small 4″ mid bass driver Kanto YU4 are ok for a desk setup or small room.
Better value 4″ Jamo S 801 PM or White $149 are also ok for a small room. Or 5″ Fluance Ai40 $199 for a small to medium size room. For a phono stage preamp add a $13 Pyle or a step up ART DJ PRE II $66 adds adjustable gain.
However all of the above powered speakers have a digital amp, not analog.
I recommend and prefer separate passive speakers and an analog receiver.
