You can get a HyperX Alloy Origins Core TKL board with HyperX’s Aqua switches for like $75 on Amazon right now. It’s what I have and I love it.

I would prefer new but if the used keyboard is that good then I wouldn’t mind. By form factor, do you mean like 60% or otherwise kinda thing? I was looking for something like this form factor.

I own this since august 2020 (got it for 7.5k). Hyperx aqua switches are equivalent to mx browns. Software is decent enough, does the job but it is windows store exclusive (no need for microsoft account, can download without it).

If you want to know about the product ama.

I’ve decided to go ahead and buy a new keyboard (HyperX Alloy Origins Core) But I don’t like the look of the keycaps, normally I would research until i find an answer, but with my limited knowledge I have no idea what to even look for!

If someone could point me in the right direction + some good keywords to use when searching, I would be most grateful.

Thanks!

You can find some ducky keyboard here for around the €100 mark. They also sell here, as well in other stores like Candykeys (they also sell keyboards from varmilo, Leopold and all the good brands), caseking, alternate etc. All are certified retailers.

You can also get the hyperX alloy origins core for €100 on amazon as well.

I have the Alloy Origins Core tkl (alos comes in full with num pad) with their aqua switches. Definitely recommend that keeb. RGB is excellent and the aqua switches are really nice to type and play with.

Whats your price range? When you say metal frame, did you mean the case itself or just the top plate? You can get way better basic wrist wrests on amazon. You should check out hyper x alloy origins core. Their aqua switches are actually clones of cherry mx browns i believe.

Actually, it looks like the Alloy Origins Core is simply more expensive in the UK than it is in the USA. Here is a link to the $90 version, although it is the USA version of Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Alloy-FPS-Pro-Ultra-Compact/dp/B084GYSFDT

If you can shell out the extra $10 for the G512, do it. The topic of “the best switch” has been argued since forever. It’s a matter of personal opinion, not objective fact. However, the 512 has full rgb backlighting and that is a definitive advantage. Even if you just want a static color, you can choose exactly what color that static color is.

Personally, If I had the freedom to recommend any gaming keyboard, my current top pick would be the HyperX Alloy Origins Core. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GYSFDT it’s cheaper, you’ll have more room for your mouse because there’s no numpad, and and it has a detachable USB-C cable. You might also want to pick up these keycaps for it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDVG4RQ Double shot PBT keycaps are made of a far more durable material and will last a lot longer. Adding the keycaps onto the board will make it more expensive than the Logitech keyboard, but the HyperX with PBT keycaps would be clear upgrade over Logitech.

Of course, if you have a specific reason for wanting a board from Logitech, or you need that numpad, you should absolutely go for the Logitech board.

Here’s one final tip: if you buy your keyboard from Amazon and find that you don’t like the way the keys feel or sound, you can just return it, basically no questions asked. (I mean, they literally do ask one question, but it doesn’t impact how you return your board.) It looks like both the G512 and G413 are no longer being sold by Logitech through Amazon, which is unfortunate.

Side note: I’m basing pricing and availability from my perspective in the United States; your situation may be different.
