HP Pro Élite V2.
Ive had at least 10 keyboards in the last year (including mechanicals), and this is by far the closest to the Surface Pro 4.
My main keyboard is an Apple Magic Keyboard 2, but the Pro Elite feels just like it and the Surface pro TypeCover 4. I have it right on my desk and use it when I’m doing heavy Numeric inputs.
Nice soft clicky feel, and won’t break the bank. Give it a try.

I find chiclet style keyboards to be much quieter than traditional switch type. The HP SK-2060 is the quietest I’ve come across and the one my wife current “gets” to use: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Wireless-Elite-Keyboard-v2/dp/B005HNHRA6

There are standalone keyboards with scissor switches available:

Thanks a bunch for your detailed response! I ended up going with a HP Wireless Elite Keyboard v2 that has low keys for less noise:

Try the HP Elite Keyboard v2. Same feel as an Apple keyboard at one third the price. And it’s for a PC.

I found you some wired and wireless alternatives:
Key size is really down to personal preference and the switch type you want, really. Taller keys sometimes offer mechanical switches which for many people (myself included) feel more comfortable to type with, albeit their loud “clack” sound.
And thank you!
