We tried these “bamboo” sheets out after trying multiple different types of sheets (cotton linen, percale, etc.) and they by far are the softest and smooth feeling sheets we have tried. We use them in all our bedrooms. My wife and I love them, they sleep “cool” and are very smooth w/ zero pilling.

On the mattress front you could do a split king (twin XL’s) if you have different comfort/support needs, more than a few people have gone that route instead of “compromising” on a mattress.
