You seem to know a lot more about headphones then I do, and I spent the last 5 hours looking up everything I can find. I searched those three names, as well as hifiman, but I cant find anything with velour, and wireless/bluetooth.

Any recommendations, something similar to the Hifiman HE400i possibly?

Not a professional, but I strongly recommend the Hifiman 400i 2020 edition. Z Reviews did a review on them and highly praised their price to performance ratio, and as an owner, I can confirm that they sound great even without an amp/dac.

Z’s review (he swears a lot so beware if you are sensitive): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRF8GrRMpRw

Is there much of a difference between the drop versions than one on Amazon? Such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BC5CM9N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_jnm0Fb3XTKBHK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Hifiman HE-4XX here, bought them after weeks of research and questioning various “audiophiles” and gamers who use studio style cans, fully open back, enough of soundstage has fun/flat sound profile, clear bright-ish sound.

Before i’ve used Sennheiser HD 598SR which was also superb cans for 99Euros but not that great for gaming mostly because of worse imaging/soundstage still superior to most if not all “Gaming Headsets”.

4XX’s are probably best all-round headphones under 200-300Eur ( for a price of $160 ), good for music/movies too but the best for gaming as their imaging and soundstage gets into action.

Cons of 4XX:

– Might break on the headband region ( pretty sure it’s resolved in the new Hifiman 400i 2020 ).

– Amplifier not required but recommended for more volume – same for 400i. You most likely won’t be able to drive them from your phone/laptop ( upgraded to B450 Gaming K4 mobo and it was enough for me as a result sold my amp/dac ).

– Sound leak and pretty much zero sound isolation ( normal for open backs which gives way more natural and less “claustrophoic” open speaker-like sound aka larger soundstage but headphone newbs might not realize that ).

But.. don’t pick the 4XX, get the 400i 2020 as they’re same headphones just improved overall.
