Looking for a portable DAC/amp for my mom with hearing loss in one ear. Predicted use is mostly for comfortable listening to movies/skype on an android tablet.
I’m considering making a short extension cord with resistor on one channel. Was trying to measure it and it would be around 150ohm resistor. With this approach an DAC/amp would need to drive more than 200ohm (150ohm for resistor plus 50ohm for headphones).
Would a Topping nx2 be a good choice?
Alternatively does a DAC/amp with ability to balance left and right channel by considerable volume exist?

Haha, if youre curious I can tell you, its Not really for using it outdoors :).
I basically travel a lot (job) and have had a tough year (family member passed away). I discovered that Headphones/Music were an incredible therapy for me (I had the M50x) this year! And I travel with them everywhere (hotels mainly) now.
On top of travelling a lot, I enjoy listening to my headphones while laying in bed (often when I felt down), and having to have an amp connected to a plug/usb would be an annoyance.
I just bought the X2 (from M50x), and Im hoping I’ll like them!

If you want more outputs you’re going to need a headphone amp. I recommend the Topping NX2.

Quick(ish) question: Topping NX2 (amp/dac) or an Asus Xonar DGX (soundcard) for either a Philips SHP9500 or an AKG K240 studio (haven’t decided yet), mostly for gaming. I’m open to recommendations for other options as well.
