I found bags for weights not so comfy overtime. My advice would be to rethink the weight attachment to your body.

  1. Poor man’s style – rope / karate belt wrapped around your waist and through the plates. If it hurts too much, add a sweater around hips for padding
  2. If you’re a climber you can use climbing harness
  3. My favorite option – You can buy dip belt, something like this
  4. Use a weight vest

Dip belt pros – cheap, can attach shitload of weight, perfect for dips and pullups. Cons – weights swinging on the chain can get irritating

Weight vest pros – weights close to your body – perfect for pushups, handstand push ups. Cons – not so comfy for pull ups and dips (movement limitations), impossible to overload / add more weight than it’s build for.

Anyone have any recommendations for a first dip belt? I’d like to stay between $25-60 or so and don’t need anything too special. HUUUGE plus if it’s on amazon prime. Please and thanks Here’s what I’m considering now: https://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-Polypropylene-30-Inch-Steel-Chain/dp/B001P0S3XU/ref=sr_1_4?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1496935247&sr=1-4&keywords=dip+belt

I got this Harbringer on amazon a while ago and it’s been great. I usually try to get the best quality everything but like you said I didn’t wanna break the bank on a dip belt. Definitely recommend it!

Been using this one for years for weighted dips and pull-ups and love it. It’s durable, good up until around 200lb of load I believe, and is confirmed by the manufacturer via Amazon questions to fit 1 inch plate holes. Sorry if it for some reason doesn’t but I made sure to check before posting about it fitting

That’s weird, the chains on the ones at my gym don’t even tough your clothes, shouldn’t hit your leg either if you have it high enough. They look just like these, what would the alternative to a chain be?

I bought this one about 2 years ago, and it’s been great. Highly recommend it. Have used it with kettle bells up to 24kg so far.

My husband uses this one (we ordered it directly from Amazon) – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P0S3XU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for dips mainly. I’ve used it for pull-ups before too, and it seemed to work just fine for me. It’s also fairly inexpensive compared to a lot of others, so that was the main reason behind the initial purchase. 🙂

~$30. Easy to use. Start with a 2.5lb plate once you can do say…3 sets of 5 chinups or pullups with bodyweight. Same w/ dips.

A Weighted belt is probably the least expensive piece of equipment you can find, so yeah, I would.

I bought this one from Amazon and have no issues. I’ve had up to 90lbs hanging on it securely, and the chain length is fine (45lb plates are a tight fit but honestly I wouldn’t want the chain any longer.)

I use one of these, works great. Secure and centers the weight right between the legs.

I used a belt! I like it because you can load more weight than with a vest (or so I’ve heard) I use this one

So I did RR for about 2 years, you only need to eat at 100-200 calories above TDEE to grow muscle. Likewise, to lose fat, hit your protein macro (1 gram/pound of bodyweight) and eat 200-400 below TDEE. When. RR became to easy with just body weight, I added weighted versions of the exercises. Weighted chins, Dumbbell (DB) Split Squat – Weighted Dips, DB RDL, DB Flat Press, One Arm DB Rows. I started out on massive cut to lose body fat, I remember being very hungery all the time, then started eating at slight surplus everyday, nothing crazy. You need to be we eating real food too, ground beef, eggs, chicken, tuna, cottage cheese, yogurt….no bowls of cereal, poptarts, other bullshit. I used this to add weight,

It works, you just have to be patient and determined to stick with it, DM me if you have any more questions, will be glad to help.

One like this? – https://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-Polypropylene-Belt-Steel-Chain/dp/B001P0S3XU?th=1

Just move the carabiner up the chain link to shorten the chain?

Yeah, I hear you. I think if you don’t have a lat pull down machine (and you want to get the V), pullups and chinups will definitely help. If you have the funds get a weight belt and strap on some low weights (5-10 lbs).

I tend to go to Nippard as he gets scientific when it comes to hypertrophy stuff. Not sure how well liked he is in this community. Here’s a 2017 video he did on back workouts.

A dip belt isn’t exactly a bank breaker and is a one time purchase but if you don’t want to purchase one, you could look into holding a DB between your feet/legs

Buy yourself a dip belt, or put a DB between your legs/feet
