If you’re just looking for a comfortable wrist rest I’ll shout out Grifiti wrist rests. Quality stuff, and it feels very good. Amazon has you covered. Different colors and sizes also available. That wrist rest is thick, and fits the CM case dimensions well.

If you’re open to a soft wrist pad as an alternative (well, it’s not squishy-soft, it’s actually quite firm), check out the Grifiti ones on Amazon. They’ve got a few different sizes. I love mine

Grifit pads all the way. I own the one linked and 2 of the one here.
The one linked above it much stiffer and higher up than the Grifiti pads. The Grifiti pads are cheaper and are a much better pad. Only downside is that they aren’t stitched like the one above.
I would go with the Grifiti one if you’re looking for a pad.

Well, personally I’d recommend to not use a wrist rest at all. But~~ if I were to use one, I’d go with something like this:
Now, I’m not sure about the strafe, but my original K70 wrist rest fits on my K70 LUX. It’s a little looser than the one that came with the K70 LUX, but it still works. Maybe see if you can find the replacement wrist rest from somewhere that’s easy to return it to. Try it, see if it works, return if it doesn’t. Not sure how I can help other than this, but good luck!

You mean the black pastic wrist pad that attaches to the keyboard? Yea I threw that out with the box.

You might need something a little smaller if you use a keyboard tray that pulls out from under a desk. But yea, most of the plastic wrist pads/rests that come with keyboards are shit. Take that thing off and do yourself a favor and get a proper wrist pad/rest. Your wrists are probably dying typing on a mechanical with that thing.

Get one of these. It’ll go bad in 6 months, but they’re so cheap, just buy another one.

Hmm that was an interesting study to read. I’m not sure if it makes any difference, but it seems like that study was focused mainly on the ergonomics of using mice. I know some mouse pads themselves come with wrist rests, typically made out of that silicon material. However, i’m just talking about keyboard wrist rests.
It would have been interesting to see this study being done on subjects using a keyboard, both with and without a wrist rest (i’m sure there is such a study, somewhere..not going to bother with trying to dig one up at this moment). A keyboard requires much more work from one’s hands so I could assume that a wrist rest would help alleviate someone who maybe works for long hours at a time at a keyboard that doesn’t already provide some sort of angled wrist support.
From personal experience– I’ve had a co-worker who is an avid PC gamer and always uses his K65 compact mechanical keyboard which comes equipped with a rubberized (or some sort of softer plastic) slope for support.
At our job, we need to be using a computer at all times. The keyboards provided to us there have absolutely no support for the wrist. He began to complain of feeling strain on his wrists, and bought himself one of these, and hasn’t complained since.
So it’s a bit tough to say, but I feel like there’s a lot of factors. For some people it could work and for others, maybe not.

I have a 2011 blackwidow and prefer to use a Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard for a number of game-enchancing factors that Razer didn’t bother with. I’ve got a ps2 connector for this thing (interrupt instead of polling), detachable wire, it fits with 3rd party accessories, it’s lighter, and it doesn’t have a gloss finish that ends up with smudges. Small things, but together they add up to make one keyboard experience superior to the other. The gaming aspect of the Blackwidow is the macro program it comes with, rest is marketing.

I would say that yes, Blacks are better for gaming than either Blues or Clears. They are completely linear, with no bump or click, so it’s easier to rapidly double tap/mash keys.
You can try this, I personally use a towel as a makeshift wrist rest.

Those are probably the best value. Honestly, anything about an inch thick will work fine. You could make your own from a 1×4 pine board.

Boom. Foam wrist rest, shipping isn’t too bad, and it’s pretty cheap.

A wrist rest keeps me comfortable when I’m using the computer for extended periods of time.
I also use these headphone holders, they are cheap and mount with doublesided tape, and they’ll hold just about any headphones you can find.
Another thing that many people don’t think about, but can make a massive difference, is monitor placement. VESA Arm mounts are great for having monitors placed where you want them, while also letting you shift them around when you need to.

I know this one is recommended around here. An alternative would be a wooden one such as this filco one. I have seen some options pop up on massdrop (such as this one) as well if that is a buying option for you.

If you’re willing to compromise a tad, /u/Hifimanz is selling a Deck Hassium Pro. /u/Maysock hit the nail on the head with the G710+, that’s a great mech as well, had one myself. The Deck is also great, meeting the simplistic design (handsome) and the replaceable keycaps (standard layout). Get something like a Grifiti and all you’re sacrificing is the volume roller!

Should I get these? If so, it’ll be my first mech. I’m Australian so that’s why there’s PCCaseGear. Amazon is awesome so that’s why it’s Amazon.
Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad (I have medium-ish hands and I’m 13 years old (nearly 14) but this is what I could find).
I mainly game on my PC if that makes any difference. I also Reddit as you can see on your monitor. I also use a Logitech G502, in case there’s any difference that makes. It’s also a fairly cramped desk.

Don’t worry about the anti-Razer circlejerk.
In general, people misuse wrist rests. You shouldn’t constantly set your wrists on the pad; instead, use it every now and then to give them a rest. Ideally, you should be “floating” over the keyboard. I’m typing this post at a standing desk, and I have my keyboard positioned such that my wrists hang over empty space.

If you decide you still want a wrist rest, Grifiti makes popular ones. No need for cheap-looking bonded leather.
