You can pick up a keyboard switch tester on Amazon for ~$15 which has 9 (or more) of the most common keyboard switches. That way you can have a feel for them. Something like this:

Edit: I’m part of the red switch gang.

Blues are more heavy and clicky, browns are heavy but without the clicky, reds are a nice medium between the speed switches and the brown switches. They are a good middle ground if you can’t figure out which one to get. Overall, brown red and speed are all good for gaming. The speed switches have a smaller actuation force so on paper they should be the best for gaming but it’s really about preference. I own keyboards with brown, blue red and speed. I’m currently using a ducky one 2 mini with speed switches for call of duty games. If you want a really good keyboard, I’d say go with Ducky over Corsair and Razer. Although the “gaming” keyboards work fine, nothing compares to the feeling of using a ducky keyboard. You can always order a switch tester and sample all the different keyboard switches out there or go to your local Best Buy/ wal mart and try out the different keyboards they got. Here’s a good switch tester on Amazon…

If you never tried a keyboard before I heavily suggest buying a switch tester from a place with a good return policy like amazon so you could return the switch tester after you try it, cause i also bought cherry reds but i found that i prefer the bump on the cherry browns or the blues more than the linear red ones. Keyboards switches are all preference really and buying reds wont make you a better player. I wouldn’t agree that Romer G feels like Cherry, they feel a lot mushier. The loud tactile feedback isn’t a difference between Romer G and Cherry, it’s a difference between the type of switch. With Tactile switches you can feel a little bump when the switch activates, Clicky switches are just like tactile but it makes a click at that same actuation point, and Linear has no bump and no click.

I wouldn’t recommend any logitech keyboards with Romer G, generally I don’t think that they feel as good as Cherrys, especially if you’re typing a lot. THAT BEING SAID it’s really up to personal preference and you kind of need to feel the switches yourself to know what you like. Stores like Best Buy should have Romer G keyboards that you can go try out. I’d reccomend buying a cherry key switch tester, heres one on amazon, finding which switch you like and buying a Ducky keyboard with that switch.

Finally, my first keyboard had a wrist rest, when I was shopping for a new one I thought I wanted it to have a wrist wrest as well. Ended up not getting a keyboard with a wrist wrest and I haven’t noticed a difference in comfort. Keep in mind that you can get separate wrist wrests and you don’t need to get a keyboard with one built in (I think it’s actually nicer to have the choice to be able to move it.

Long comment for your long post. Hope this helps.
