Io ti consiglierei le Grado SR80. Un po’ piu’ costose del tuo budget ma vermente un’altro mondo rispetto a delle cuffie “economiche” a caso.

as an audiophile I can recommend for in home usage under $100

Grado SR80e
https://www.amazon.com/Grado-SR80e-Prestige-Series-Headphones/dp/B00L1LXOWS/r

SR80e is probably the best headphone you can get for $100. they’re designed to be used for home but they’re not ridiculous large that you could also use it for travel

u wont get any bass (mainly sub bass) with any open back headphones below 100 euros.
You could look at Grado SR80e. Really good mids and highs(treble).
No bass whatsoever but it’ll go really well with jazz.

The Amazon description (scroll down to the comparison chart, look at “headphone fit”) says they’re “supraaural” whereas the description for the others says “on-ear”.

I have no idea what this means.

I bought mine years and years ago so I can’t judge the new version but judging by the comments it looks fine. Also they have more expensive versions now as well.

Grados are all about quality, they don’t care about comfort, or looks (even though I find them comfy and cool after years of usage), the sound leaks like a mofo so much so that they are unusable outside of your home. They literally come in a box that looks like a pizza box, zero effort in design or marketing or anything like that, they live simply through word of mouth of audiophiles. That’s probably why you have never heard of them.

The AudioTechnicas are awesome but the Grados are really something else. It’s not that the ATs lack something, they are fine, but the Grados just sound better, they are a lot crispier and generally more “open” so you can really appreciate every note by itself in ways a closed headphone cannot do. I don’t know any of that audiophile lingo mumbo jumbo, there’s plenty of that in the reviews at Amazon.

I cannot in good faith recommend you to buy any other pair if you already own the M50x, but if you were to buy a new pair anyway judging by your post you should definitely give the Grados a try.

Grados! They’re really great. The sound quality on them is just unreal, although they really work best with acoustic/guitar/old rock songs….but using these when listening to Late Orchestration is just awesome.

AKG’s, or Grado sr80e. The Grado’s are almost always the top 3 if not the top on almost every under $100 comparison. Just Google them and a hot review will be one of the first things that pop up. Edit to add a link http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige-Series-SR80e-Headphones/dp/B00L1LXOWS

I know iTunes has a lossless encoder for CDs, but I’m not too sure about mobile setups playing stuff like that. Just burn the stuff to your machine and use some decent cans if you’d like higher quality music. Grado SR80e’s seem like the upgraded version of my SR80i’s and they just treat vocals so well, give them a listen when you get the chance.

super quick edit: I do use 128k for my mobile setup, but that’s for riding in my car with the windows down. Music, at that point, is just chill background noise.

You might want to go for something like Grado’s

http://www.amazon.com/Grado-Prestige-Series-SR80e-Headphones/dp/B00L1LXOWS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421556700&sr=8-1&keywords=grado+headphones

On ear with foam lets a lot of outside noise in, plus they look sweet. I liked the older line better, they were cheaper, but the E series doesn’t look bad.

Dude I HIGHLY recommend Grado SR-80e and cool thing is they’re only $100. I found them while researching 4 years ago and came across a top ten HPs of 2016 and they were somewhere in the middle and all the other HPs were $500 up to $1500, and they said the Grados performed like HPs 4x the price. They are PERFECT for the Dead, metal, anything… I even told my mom to get me the pair one grade up from the 80s, the SR125e’s and guess what, they are absolutely no better than the SR-80e’s … only difference was a heavier duty cord and plug on the 125s, and I like the smaller cord and plug better cuz I plug into my laptop. here’s the Amazon

Right now running on Grado Sr80i’s (model older than these ones)

They were reviewed as by far the best headphones under 100 bucks when I bought them.

Pros:

Very good sound without distortions, they compare to headphones 300usd+

Very good soundstage (amount of distance away sound can appear as coming from – the mroe the more immersive the sound is)

Very comfortable

Cons:

They are open, having open headphones with good sound is easier to do but open headphones leak sound out and you can hear outside noises easier, should not be a problem if staying indoors

Have to be careful with twisting cables, I have had mine for years and have no probs but the base of the cups where cables get connected is fragile and you tend to twist cables when putting them on/off

I’ve had hair go into them a couple times (from my sideburns lol) – can be annoying, usually fixed by blowing a little.

EDIT:

Check out the series by tech syndicate on choosing headphones and microphone

The UK amazon has them for 89 GBP which is like 104€ … which seems like a decent price!

At your price point, check out the Grado Prestige Series SR80 headphones. I’ve had a pair of SR60’s for over 20 years, they sound great.

Budget – £100 Hard Limit

Source – My computer, asrock z97 pro4 onboad audiocard. I’ll probably buy a better one soon, also, I’m not looking to buy an amp.

Requirements for Isolation – Little, I’m only going to be using these at home but I don’t mind if there’s none, or a lot.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? – Not likely.

Preferred Type of Headphone – I would like on or over ear. I really want to try open back too.

Preferred tonal balance – Ideally I’d like a balanced set of Headphones but I’d like a fair bit of bass.

Past headphones – Nothing worth noting. Just some Sony, HTC and Apple IEMs.

Preferred Music – A lot of Rock, Post-Hardcore, Music with a lot of Screaming, Metal, Hip-Hop, a bit of Chiptune and music like Crystal Castles, You Love Her Coz She’s Dead and Kap Bambino

What would you like to improve on from your set-up – I’m not sure where I’m going after this, this is my first step into better headphones and potential audiophile territory. I will use the pair of headphones recommended to figure out what I will look for next.

I’ve already done a bit of research and have found a few sets of headphones that I am interested in but I lack the knowledge of if they’re good or not.

Grado SR80e – From what I’ve heard, these headphones are very well received and liked but lack good bass which concerns me. I also LOVE the look of these headphones, they are probably my favourite.

AKG K240 MKII
These headphones are my second favourite however, I’m concerned that I may need an amp to make these work to their full potential. I was also looking at the regular 240s but heard these were an upgrade.

Finally, the AKG K271 MKII – As with the K240s I’ve heard a lot of glowing reviews on these pair but I’m worried that I require an amp. I also really love the fact that the two sets of AKGs have detachable wires.

I’m open to recommendations, but if any of the headphones I’m interested in would be good for me then all the better! Sorry if this has been long winded!

If you’re into using headphones, I have a pretty inexpensive setup that sounds incredible.

Gradi SR80e

Objective2 Headphone Amp with ODAC built in

Throw these on the Grados

A little under $400 total, which is more expensive than a lot of people are willing to pay, but a set of other nice cans (AKG702,Beyerdynamic DT990,Sennheiser HD650) can be close to $200-300 alone.
