Got it from amazon, nothing special, we are talking about something that just heats water quick right? It was a travel kettle. I’ll look for a link…found it.

Caveat: I’m not exactly a one-bagger, just a person who travels light compared to my friends and family.
We did a 3 week road trip for our honeymoon and unfortunately we both got bronchitis for part of it. I ended up buying a bunch of camping stuff at Wall Drug (tourist trap near the Badlands) to use in the motel as we had to stop for a few days because neither of us could drive and the motel delivery options were all pizza and burgers. I’m not a health nut but I just can’t eat that stuff when sick.
Fun times. Anyways, since then, I have been working on making a small hotel kitchen kit. It’s a work in progress.
It is nice to have a small cutting board and knife so you can make sandwiches. It’s nice to have a portable electric kettle. It’s nice to have a way to make good coffee, either an aeropress or a collapsible pour over filter.
At the very least, I like to travel with a spoon and a microwavable soup mug like this. That way I know I can always heat up a can of soup or some water for oatmeal/coffee/tea.
(I don’t trust hotel coffee makers because people wash their underwear in those things and they never get cleaned.)
When we travel we’re usually a three-bag couple: one bag for each of us and a third small bag with communal supplies for the hotel. We do our cooking and bathroom supplies in the third bag rather than each packing separate toiletries. This probably isn’t too helpful for solitary ultralight packers, but it’s what we do. 🙂
