Hi there,

With this budget, you can either buy a prebuilt and swap the keycaps out or build a custom. Would recommend just buy a prebuilt as building a custom (depending on your location and in-stock parts around you) can be hard.

I can recommend you the GMMK TKL prebuilt (as I have the case myself). White pudding keycaps should not be very hard to find, just search them up on amazon or similar sites.

Hope this helps!

also, I linked to german amazon assuming you’re in the EU as you’re using euro. If not then just search up gmmk tkl on your region’s amazon.

Hey y’all, a friend who’s into this hobby directed me here!

My work will allow me to buy any keyboard through the corporate Amazon account, but trying to aim for ~$100. I will then buy Gazzew Boba switches (tried them on my friend’s) separately so I don’t make my coworkers want to kill me from the noise. Would this on Amazon be a good choice for that?

Thanks!

Along with the other people here I’d recommend a cheaper keyboard. The main gaming keyboards are way overpriced and the quality isn’t that great. The Glorious GMMK is pretty good, I also prefer tkl so you’re arms don’t have to be spread as far apart.

I need some help choosing my first keyboard. I’m looking for a keyboard that is …
1. Black
2. TKL
3. Hot swappable
4. LED with lots of options
5. < $150 although price isn’t a primary concern
Is the Glorious GMMK the best keyboard that meets this criteria? I’d love to hear other suggestions.

ooh this does look interesting (except RGB, but i hope i can disable it?) A couple of questions though if I may:

 1. What’s a decent price for this? Amazon has it for £126 is that what one would expect to pay for this?
 2. How much are the replacement switches/caps? What i’ve googled it seems like at around £50?
 3. By “making a custom” not sure what you mean. Does it mean that i’ll have to map all the keys in some software?

Thanks!

Glorious is pretty nice for the money, also you get hot swap sockets so you can put in some silent switches if the ones it comes with aren’t quiet enough. You can buy it as a kit on their website and choose their pudding keycaps and which type of switch you want, you just have to put it together and it might not be as fast as amazon. They also come in a 60% if you wanted a compact board. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KGHZY4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_TQwNEb2008HQ8

Hello! I’m in the search for a TKL MK, I got some recommendations already and had decided to get the Cooler Master Masterkeys RGB but I found this today and it’s a bit cheaper. I was just wondering if it is a good deal or not https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1531927938&sr=8-17&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65

Thanks again 🙂

Hi! Currently using a SteelSeries 6gv2 w/ MX Reds and looking to upgrade. I’m thinking of getting a TKL keyboard with either brown or red switches. I read through the buying guide but I was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations. Currently leaning towards the GMMK (mainly for switch flexibility if I decide I want something else. Thanks 🙂

This one? It ships to Germany, looks great! Only thing that worries me is the qwerty layout but I can switch that.

General question, can I put any keycap on any keyboard, this one for exampe? Appreciate your help!

Yes, it’s a solid TKL for less than $100. There aren’t a lot of options for 75% / TKL layouts.

Here are a few though:

Keychron K2

Here’s a Glorious GMMK Modular TKL with gateron brown switches for $109

https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=ducky+tkl&qid=1621495737&sr=8-2

And a used Steelseries Apex 7 TKL with red switches on amazon for $92

The GMMK TKL comes to mind, and it’s even hot swappable. Plus, it’s on Amazon prime for the impatient.

If you’re able to get this where you are it’s a better option over the Apex 7.

the corsair board isn’t hot swappable (i.e you can change switches on the fly) you’d need to desolder the switches. I’d recommend a gmmk TKL. its a hotswap board that you’d need to get 90x switches and keycaps for. If there is a microcenter in your area, they may carry the GMMK, switches and keycaps.

Amazon link for the prebuilt version https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=GMMK+tkl&qid=1639768640&s=electronics&sr=1-1

A TKL is 87 switches so a few extra if you bend a pin or two. Razer PBT keycap set is $20~. or there is a prebuilt version with switches and caps already.

Hi there,

I currently have a GMMK TKL and it has all of your specs, although it does not (at least to my knowledge) come with an option to have pre-installed yellow/silver switches. This is fine because it is hot-swap. On amazon.de it’s currently 113 euros, leaving you with 37 euros to buy these gateron yellows to switch with the pre-installed browns. I’m presuming you’re in the EU as you’re using the euro.

Hope this helps!

Ey, thanks for your reply.

I’m actually looking for a red/brown switch (i still have to choose one)

And if you don’t mind, i would like to ask a few questions.

I’m looking for a 100% MK (all the keys), but i’d like to ask, why are some TKL more expensive than the 100% MK? This Glorious GMMK for example.

And if you’d be kind to give me a little opinion about the hexgears impulse, there are too many choices, it seems all of the KB are good (Including GMMK, i’d like a little opinion about that one too, if you could). I’m a little indecisive, they look all so cool and well built. I hope you don’t mind the questions.

Oh, and also, is the white color recommended? They look so pretty, but i’m a little worried they get ugly with the time.

Many thanks, really appreciate it.

So I’ve taken a look at a couple, having narrowed it down a bit. Is there any reason I should get this: (https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1) over this: (https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlit-Resistant/dp/B079H7N61M/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=corsair+k68&qid=1594679878&s=electronics&sr=1-2)?

The corsair is a bit more expensive, but comes with a wrist rest and has macro (something I’m semi-interested in), but the gmmk may have better key quality from what I’ve researched? I’m not sure what causes the price differences apart from one coming with the wrist rest.

I bought a GMMK TKL (https://www.amazon.ca/Glorious-Modular-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B071KGHZY4) a few days ago. No complaints so far plus hot-swappable switches!

Got it, I have heard that Brazil has horrible taxation on international shipping. That certainly would make it more difficult. For ease I’ll just look from what’s available on Amazon, I assume that would be relatively easier for you. Unfortunately I don’t know what your availability on these will look like, hope this helps.

GMMK. Hotswappable, so if you don’t like the switches, you can change them out without soldering/desoldering. Pretty good build quality.

Topre boards:

These are well known for having a very pleasant typing experience.
