I just purchased a Gigabyte K83 with Cherry MX Blues for my computer at work. The boss and all my coworkers were so impressed with the quality and feel of the board that the boss ordered one for every workstation in the office.

If a bunch of people who know nothing about keyboards can feel the difference in 5 minutes, then I think it is absolutely worth it.

I just got my first mechanical keyboard ever and I am IN LOVE!!!! It’s this one: https://smile.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Mechanical-Keyboard-GK-Force-K83/dp/B01BMJ0Y76/

Anything I should know going into owning a mechanical keyboard in general or this keyboard in particular?

I’ve decided to go with this, since as you noticed, there is a lack of water-resistant options at the low end of the price range. Hopefully the drainage will allow it to survive a coffee splashing.

Worst case I’m out the $40, but I have high hopes that it will fare better than a membrane keyboard.

Anyone own Gigabyte Mechanical Cherry Blue Keyboard? Looking for feedback before I buy.

LINK TO KEYBOARD $39.99

Seems fairly priced and uses genuine Cherry MX Blue switches. I’ll mainly be using this keyboard for typing, with some minimal gaming.

Thank you.

Currently, I’m eyeing these two kbs, both with cherry mx blues. The first one is the Gigabyte Force K83 and the iKBC CD87. The Gigabyte one would be $60 AUD with free Amazon Prime shipping, while the iKBC would be $105 AUD with shipping. From what I can see, the only major differences between the two is that the Force k83 uses ABS keycaps, while the iKBC has PBT ones, and apparently has a better build quality. Are there any other differences, and if there are/aren’t would the increase in price make the iKBC CD87 worth it over the Force K83?

Also, if there are any other options in Australia in the same budget (max $100 AUD)? Thanks.

Gigabyte sells a cheap, MX Red keyboard. It’s tenkey and all black, no backlighting. Looks perfect for an office keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Mechanical-Keyboard-K83-RED/dp/B01BMJ0Y76?th=1
