I posted this over in /r/buildapc, but I feel like I need to cast a wider net on this question. I have a Gmyle keyboard that refuses to work. Here’s the CTRL-C/V of the thread I made over there:

What is your parts list?

Gmyle keyboard F21-XQ9G

I’m running 64 bit Windows 10 with a MSI Z170A Gaming M7 LGA1151 Motherboard, if that matters. It also didn’t work with my old computer, that was using a Maximus III Gene MoBo.

Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive.

Keyboard will not work if plugged in while PC is already on. It has worked in the past, but only when it’s plugged in before turning the computer on. If I put it to sleep, the keyboard will not work upon restart.

List anything you’ve done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.

Restarted computer, tried different USB ports, tried to Google the model.

Post relevant photos of build/parts here.

Provide any additional details you wish below.

I’m not sure what to do with this thing. The user reviews are terrible, I guess that’s why it was so cheap. I can’t find any info on drivers or troubleshooting or anything like that. I’m desperate for answers, hopefully someone here has dealt with this before.

Thanks for the responses! The direct problem is actually the keyboard itself. Look at the reviews…the random key spam is a very common problem. The only reason I got it is because of a free-after-rebate offer (and I didn’t check the reviews before).

Anyway, as /u/radiantcabbage suggested, I turned off key repeat settings in Windows and made an ahk script to enable repeats for keys like backspace, spacebar, arrows, etc.
