I looked it up on Amazon, and the same brand is not available anymore. It is very similar to this one. I haven’t used it in a while, so I charged it to type this response. It still works fine with my Android phone, but it is a bit sketchy with my Windows PC (probably due to poor connection). The keys aren’t great, but they are okay for taking notes on the go.

For full keyboard this looks better:

OP this is what I use and it works great. I believe they also make a longer one with a trackpad on the right.

It’s more than worth the weight to me.

Hi, thanks for the response! That’s a relief to hear about the batteries for the Logitech. Regarding the weight though, was it significantly heavier? Amazon seems to list 1.62 lbs but I’m not sure if that’s with the case or not.

I appreciate the link for the folding keyboard, though I unfortunately wouldn’t do well with that split in the center. I’m decent with my typing speed but my typing habits aren’t the best since a lot of typing is done with my left hand instead of the proper distribution between both hands.

Did you ever look into adding this iClever keyboard to your collection? If so, what were your thoughts? The brand/reviews make me skeptical, but the way it folds is more my taste.

Wow, you know a design works when it is copied this many times:

This is one of IDK how many Jorno clones on Amazone: https://www.amazon.com/Recommend-iClever-Portable-Bluetooth-Ultraslim/dp/B00YWLJNPQ/189-1326875-1710565?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top

Has anyone had their hands on a real Jorno? Do you think it’s worth the premium over the clones?

Just enjoying the comments.

I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal for the moment, but you’ll end up downsizing a lot. Basically, you’re getting a lot of similar comments because when we look at this, we’re remembering mistakes we made early on and laughing at ourselves.

It’s probably not clear to you yet, but this lifestyle will naturally encourage you to pack as light as possible over time.

A couple of suggestions.

Keyboard: I use this one. Full size, folds up tiny. Works great. Rechargeable, bluetooth. Many other similar options available. I pair it with a rechargeable bluetooth number pad when I need it.

Monitor: Here’s what everyone is talking about with USB-C monitors. I don’t remember which specific model I use, but it’s something from ASUS. Just make sure to double check the resolution before buying one.

Consider replacing the headphones with some quality earbuds, but I understand if that one is a necessity for you.

I’ve been really happy with the iClever BK-03. Paired with my iPhoneXR, it’s been my primary ‘home computer’ for over 2yrs now.

That is an aluminum bluetooth keyboard. Here’s the link for the actual product. It is quite cool.

I use this foldable bluetooth keyboard, so I don’t have to fight with the screen. Not convenient when you’re working of course, but often handy.

Oh oops, I got my brands mixed up for the travel keyboard. I was thinking of the Jorno, but that’s really expensive. I use one similar to this model on Amazon.

If you’re going now, it’s gonna be pretty warm – might want to also bring a sun hat of some sort. Sunscreen you can get there; the choices are almost overwhelming. They take skin care very seriously…

A portable bluetooth keyboard will work, something sorta like this

If you care about typing comfort and need the portable form factor for mobility, I strongly recommend a folding type Bluetooth keyboard over the rolling kind. The rolling keyboards have the thick rubber skin that inhibits the keypress feedback. Folding keyboards like this iClever model or its pricier backlit sibling still give you the familiar feeling. Alternatively, here’s one that even has a built-in touchpad.

I have this one.

It’s portable, works well and is a decent size to type on but not sure how it would work in a TN. I have an iPhone 8+ and height x length is slightly larger than the phone while thickness is about 2x https://i.imgur.com/h3TqeL4.jpg

I bought an iPad Pro specifically to use in school. The reason is the Apple pencil along with an app called good notes is freaking awesome for note taking. Good notes allows you to take notes right on the PowerPoint like it was paper with the added benefit of putting in hyperlinks to YouTube videos, voice recordings, and pictures of any added info put out in class. Download your PowerPoints convert to pdf put in drop box to transfer to good notes. You can organize good notes by class and then further by test or section how ever you want. I then use the kindle app for all my books. Buy the core rent the ones for specialties or buy them all your choice. Inside the kindle app you can make flash cards from the book and it is great.
Every semester I would then take all my notes and back them up on a hard drive for later use.
I would see everyone else lugging around full back packs of crap and I felt good with my little messenger bag. I packed a blue tooth keyboard, iPad, Apple Pencil, and a power bank. This allowed me to carry all my notes, all my books, access to websites, and in GoodNotes you can add video and pictures of the board if the instructor adds stuff as you go.
The iPad Pro has come down in price although it’s still pricey it is a good investment for all of your acedemic career.
This is what I used revised for new cheaper smaller iPad Pro. (Bought the 12.9 when it released)

This would charge my iPad from 5% to 80% while still using the iPad if I forgot to plug it in before bed.

Search kindle app for iPad.

I graduated last January and still get texts from people in the program asking for copies of my notes lol.

I wasn’t actually recommending a case more something like this or this or a full size usb keyboard
Like I said more to keep up with but with a case stand could be a decent solution.

For functionality i’d go with something usb based if possible the bluetooth stuff all has a annoying delay since it switches the bt radio off after a few minutes of inactivity. It’s only a few seconds and bt keyboards are still very popular so that part may not be a big issue to you.

The startup delay and occasional ghost keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeying of BT keyboards have killed them as an option for me. You can convert any usb or wireless usb full size or mini keyboard with something like this or this and avoid those problems but then you do gain a dongle to keep up with.

It’s always something but it would still be nice if they just natively had a keyboard physical keyboard but it doesn’t seem to be much on the market like that.

It’s like trying to get a verizon flip phone with LTE they exist but you won’t like the compromises you have to make to get one (only one on the market and it doesn’t have a flashlight).
