I always recommend the focusright scarlet to people just starting out. This one has 4 mic inputs but they also have cheaper versions with less inputs. As for a mic, I would find an audio store that lets you try them out. They all sound different. More expensive doesn’t always mean better. Find something that you like. To do that, you’d want to get a proper interface. Something that actually has four XLR inputs with preamps, like this.
(Alternatively, you could get the 4i4, but I think that’s only got two XLR/preamped inputs, so you’d need to get something to preamplify the other two mics before the signal goes into the 1/4 inch plugs on the back of the unit. I could be remembering wrong.)

Imagine buying a Ferrari, only to drive it in stop and go traffic during rush hour. You don’t need that mount of power and speed.
In your case, you see USB-C and think you need USB 3+ speeds but really you don’t. Newer interfaces can run many channels over USB 2.0 just time. (this wasn’t the case back in the day when FireWire was king). For exmaple take this Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 or even the larger rack-mounted Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 – both of these have a USB-C port on the back but if you check the manual you’ll find on page 6 it says:
>IMPORTANT: The Scarlett 18i20 has a single USB 2.0 Type C port (on the rear panel): connect it to your computer using the USB cable provided. Note that Scarlett 18i20 is a USB 2.0 device, and thus the USB connection requires a USB 2.0+ compliant port on your computer.
So don’t over complicate this. The USB-C to USB-A cable included with these interfaces will plug into the USB ports you already have on your PC and everything will work just fine! 🙂
