You can probably buy all the gear for what it would cost to rent a studio for a few days. It won’t be the best gear but you’ll be able to record yourself anytime.

Then you can buy a mic set on eBay for around the same price. I have the audix fusion 7 series for drums and it does the job at home. They’re 499 new but you can usually find em on eBay for cheaper. (I’m actually reluctantly selling mine since I don’t have the space to record anymore.)

Then you just need to get stands and xlrs.

Assuming you already have a computer and DAW that can handle that you can probably get away with spending under $1200 for a decent set up. You won’t be able to track a full band at once right away but with a few more mics and more preamps you can get there.

It’s not the best route but for the diy kinda guys like me it does the job.

You’ll need an interface to connect the mics to your computer. I use this one myself.

You missed the recording interface, probably ~500. Example as linked above
