Was hoping to find a fid bench with leg developer and narrow seat on a budget and dont think the ironmaster is for me do to the lack of seat adjustment as standing at a 90 degree angle impedes standing up with dumbells and I dont want to drop my powerblocks. I will mostly do low incline db pressing and ab work on it and was hoping for leg curls and extensions as well. Can anyone vouch for this bench? Im thinking about giving up on the leg developer.
I am a little concerned about the strips of metal used to maintain the position of the back pad.

This gets the job done. I haven’t used mine yet but first thing you’ll notice is the upholstery is pretty eh. And the cushion kinda sucks. These are compared to the nice commercial gym ones I’ve used.
But it’s 215 with free shipping and it’s a FID. I got it 200 otd and think it’s good for the price. I really wanted a ab3000 but 🤷♂️

A lot of people here seem to not be enthusiastic about this bench, but I have it and I really like it. I got it quick too, ordered 7/31 and delivered 8/6. I was a little worried about the recent reviews, but after receiving the bench it mostly seems like the people who ripped their seat cover were just using it wrong. The incline has an additional step where you slide the lower seat forward before inclining the bench, and I think people didn’t read the instructions and didn’t do this, leading to tension on the two cushions.
Anyways, I’m just one person, but I like this one.

This gets the job done. The cushion sucks and upholstery sucks even more but it’s decent and probably the cheapest solid FID bench out there.
But the price has gone up since I bought mine. Mine was 180 and just under 200otd. Once you factor in prime shipping it’s a solid deal. But I’d never buy it if I had to pay shipping.

I have the XL 2000 version from FR and I recommend it because I have it and its a very sturdy great bench. FR seems undervalued in the homegym community but this bench is a great buy. Its rated at like 800 lbs but doesn’t wobble does all 5 positions from decline to shoulder press. I got it at like $180 but the prices seem to fluctuate.

Well I wanted a Rep ab3000 FID. Fitness Reality has their Super Max 2000 in stock on amazon so I decided to get that for the time being because space is a little bit of an issue.
I realize two different classes of bench as far as quality but I think I can make the FR bench work for the time being.

Looking for recommendations on a good FID bench that stores vertically when not in use for space saving. Budget around $300. Currently I’m considering the Fitness Reality 2000 as a cheaper option, or the REP AB-3000 and possibly doing a wall hanger with that. Bowflex also has a couple with their ‘s – stowable’ line. Would love some suggestions!

- Should I be concerned about storing the weights in the condo? I’m on the 5th floor of 8 floors. All units are two lofts including my own and the building is concrete
- Any suggestions on what I need to protect the floor as I’m renting? Also distribute the weight I guess?

Isn’t there some kind of mechanism I could use to lock down the bar when adding weights? I swear I used like some kind of snap lock at a gym one time, so the bar wouldn’t fly off with weights added to only one end.
