Since no one has linked it yet, my personal choice is the Filtron. Iced coffee is all I ever drink so I use this thing a lot and I absolutely love it.

I just follow the guidelines etched in the side of the top water bucket. It’s got one line for a 12 oz bag of coffee and another for 16oz. Filter goes in the bottom; coffee above that; and the water bucket on top. Let it sit for 18 – 24 hours and then pull the plug at the bottom and let it drain into the included carafe. Couldn’t be easier.

I’ve tried a lot of different beans but I don’t really have a favorite. Although I tend to buy more of a blend that comes from a local place here in Kansas City called The Roasterie.

I use a Filtron. 1:4 coffee:water ratio — so for me, 450g coffee and 1800 grams water. Medium grind, slightly coarser than for the v60, and slightly finer than for Chemex (since the water’s room temperature, no worries about overextracting). Pour in the coffee, pour in just enough (room-temp, filtered) water to saturate it (which is a lot!), let it bloom for a minute or two, pour in the rest of the water, give it a quick stir, and put the top on. 18 to 24 hours later, pull the plug. It will keep in the fridge for 6 to 8 weeks. Serve over ice and add water to taste, or add hot water for a sweet, non-acidic hot coffee.

I use the Filtron. 1 pound of coffee to 1.5L of water. Steep for 18-24 hours. Makes a concentrate that I dilute 1:3 and serve over ice. Works great!

The Filtron is the highest rated cold coffee brewer by most publications and is on $40 on amazon. I have one and love it.

I would strongly recommend investing in a cold brewer if it’s your favorite method. There are a few available but I use a Filtron Cold Water Coffee Concentrate Brewer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001GSSIO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_P7Eqzb5CJZ9VN.

Best cold brew I ever had by a wide margin. One benefit is because it’s a concentrate you can mix yours with less water if you like it stronger and your SO can mix with more water.

The below is the page that sold me on it.

Yeah I think this is huge, just knowing that there’s no “trick” or anything to cold brew. I’ve just used the ol’ French Press to make a small batch overnight and boom, ready to go when I leave in the morning.

Although if OP wanted to get some gear for it, I know the Filtron is popular for a little higher cost at $38. I use the Toddy and it’s super simple and makes a large amount, and it’s at $28 right now. And for even cheaper at $14, I’d trust a Hario brand cold-brew as well!
