I ordered my Filco Majestictouch 22 tenkeypad from amazon.

I like it. My primary issue with it is that the top row of keys are twice as tall as all of the other keys. That’s gonna make it a bit weird to find keys that look decent together. I’ll have to try replacing all of them with standard profile keys and snap a picture.

Otherwise, I like it. It has brown switches, which is just fine since that is what my pok3r has as well, though I really wouldn’t care what kind of switch they were just as long as they were mechanical. The rubber feet on the bottom of the pad were very slightly uneven so I took a file to a couple of the feet until the small amount of wobble went away. It’s an easy thing to fix, just kinda lame that it needed to be done. Meh, no big deal.

My strongest dislike about the pad is it’s 00 key. The problem with it is that if you’re using the pad with your left hand, that’s what your thumb is going to naturally hit. You have to work extra hard in order to press the single 0 key with your left hand. There’s no problem at all hitting the 0 when you use the pad with your right hand. That’s how I’ve been using it today.

I’d say, if you plan on using it with your right hand, it’s a good choice. If you’re planning on using your left hand, you’ll probably find it a bit uncomfortable to use, at least until you get used to the new movement and effort your thumb will have to make.

I have a TKL keyboard for space and use a separate numpad for my buys to the left of my main keyboard.

I’m pretty sure it does. I skimmed through the Tiny LC documentation and it appears to be possible. Be sure to add the cost of the caps to my list. Honestly, I’m not to worried about the number pad codes since I am using this project to test myself.

As far as cost a Filco pad would be cheaper and is available in Blue and Brown switches (I think). I chose to build my own for the learning experience and to challenge myself. I plan on building an actual keyboard if I successfully build this pad. Oh I also wanted to play with green switches, lol.

Well, I use this in MX Brown http://www.amazon.com/Filco-Majestouch-TenKeyPad-Tactile-Numberpad/dp/B000MGBPNI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422062195&sr=8-1&keywords=filco+keypad not the best design Filco did and some report problems on Mac (didn’t try on mine, it’s on my PC) but AT LEAST it use proper keycodes. 😡

Is this a good (or at least decent) numpad?
