Just get an external USB soundcard. I’ve no idea which one to get but if you’re just looking for a headphone amp and are willing to pay a little more then the Filo Q3 looks pretty good spec wise.

I would check out youtube for reviews 1st though.

Can you share any AMP recommendation for a pair of Sennheiser HD660S please? It’s for listening to punk-rock and alternative music like Papa Roach, Pennywise, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Rise Against, Strung Out, The Ataris, The Offspring and other stuff in that range.

The headphone is currently connected to a Desktop PC with the 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapter.

I listen only to 320kbps mp3 file or when i feel like it, i treat myself to some FLAC (lossless)

I was inclined to buy one of these, but this will be my first AMP for my first pair of ‘audiophile’ headphone and I want to avoid mistake at all cost and get the most for my money obviously.

If you have any suggestions for a different brands or amp altogether, don’t sweat, i’m all hears.

Please help.

I hate to defer. But I found myself asking similar questions about what is a DAC, what is an amp, what are doing signatures, do I need an amp, etc. There is a a wealth of knowledge on these exact questions on YouTube. Channels dedicated to answer these questions in easily consumable language. I think if you have these questions you will be fixated on learning more soon.

If I could recommend a amp go with the
Fiio Q3, this is a dac/amp but if you line in 3.5mm to 3.5mm with the supplied cable you would love the results. You could also buy a line out cable and bypass the iPod amp, next level.

Also recommend, cheaper option of the Fiio A3. This is just an amp, no dac but for your use case that is just fine.

Both of these are almost identical footprints to the ipod, so they match well.

If you want to keep moving up the ipod itself will be the limiting factor sooner or later. You could get rock box for a more EQ tuning beyond presets. Or move to a another DAP platform. There are tons of winners out there. Fiio makes one that is very similar on look, feel, and shape to the ipod.

Last note don’t worry about the amp being for high impedance headphone only, I have a Xduoo XD-5 basic that would blow the doors off my IEM’s at half power, but I have to option to plug in my 300ohm headphone all in one. I truly love the sound signature of my amp even know it never gets turned up more than 10-15% volume.

I am so sorry, Fiio Q3 is the product. It comes with all cables needed for iPhones and android phones.
