Well, I would like to stay under $500 for sure… Under $400 would be even better… I know that’s probably asking a lot for some equipment to support my weight. I did see something like the Exerpeutic TF1000 which supports up to 400 lbs for about $400, but wanted some ideas for other options.

I had similar eating habits as you and got to 350+ lbs. I needed a routine that was simple to follow but had quick results, here is what I did and it helped me lose nearly a pound a day.

  1. Only eat one meal a day (look up OMAD, it’s Keto-friendly). I chose chicken and broccoli because it takes about 2-3 minutes of actual effort to cook a huge meal that actually tastes good and is super healthy. Buy a bulk amount of chicken thighs, broccoli steamer bags, butter and low-carb yogurt. Also get a cast iron skillet, seasoning salt and olive oil.

  2. Only drink water. If you’re not used to doing this it may take a week or so to get adjusted and then you’re fine. Don’t do diet sodas, smoothies or anything else. Drinks are the things that can often screw your diet, at least that’s what I have found.

  3. Walk on a treadmill for 15 minutes a day at 2.0mph, basically enough to have a good sweat but not so much/long that you dread doing it each day. I found this to help a great deal, it changed my mood, my energy and motivated me to stay on the diet because I knew that either the food or exercise was going to help with the weight loss. Because I was so large I got a simple treadmill that just came via Amazon in a box and didn’t require complex assembly (2 parts). (Link: https://www.amazon.com/Exerpeutic-Capacity-Fitness-Electric-Treadmill/dp/B003X5J1S6 ) AirPods for the iPhone are great on the treadmill because you have no wires and just pop them in your ears real quick and they auto-pause when you take one out (I usually listen to half of a 30 min podcast).

Meal Directions:

  1. Take out 4 chicken thighs and season with seasoning salt.

  2. Pre-heat over 450 degrees.

  3. Heat up cast iron skillet to medium and add small amount of olive oil (swirl to cover bottom).

  4. Place in the chicken thighs skin-side down (should sizzle) and let cook on stove for 6-8 minutes.

  5. Put entire skillet in oven and let it bake for 6-8 minutes.

  6. Flip chicken to skin-side up using tongs and wait another 5 minutes.

  7. While waiting, take steamer broccoli bag and microwave.

  8. Take out chicken from oven (place chicken thighs on paper towel) and broccoli from microwave.

  9. Put some chunks of butter in broccoli bag, close bag, and shake it up.

  10. Wait for 5 minutes, shake bag again and then pour broccoli on plate and add chicken.

  11. Done with meal for the day (should be big plate).

If you have food cravings throughout the day just have your low-carb yogurt. I had it there incase I had to stress eat I knew I could eat a big tub of the stuff in a single day and still lose weight.

After a while you can switch up the veggies and protein but keep the same routine. Steak is cooked in a similar way and there are many veggie steamer bag varieties.
