Is it this serum? If it is, it also has retinol, niacinamide, and salicylic acid, which can all dry out your skin! Vitamin C on its own can be irritating, as well, and some people have to build tolerance. The Vitamin C in that serum is 20%, which is pretty strong. If you don’t want the other ingredients, Timeless makes a great vitamin c. It’s 20%, but you can start every few days to build up tolerance if need be.

Thanks! I’ve heard lots of people say Vitamin C does wonders. Would a combo serum like this be good to use at night? Maybe combine with hydroquinone?

Are you sure it’s dryness and not eczema? I have both on my face. My eczema will flare up when I’m stressed or from a product my skin doesn’t like. I have an rx for a cream that is safe for the eye area (where it’s the worst for me). Def something to talk to a dermatologist about.

Dry skin- I like this one for my everyday and I like the r+f like – the sensitive skin steps 2+3 plus the active hydration serum. It’s annoying because I hate buying from an mlm/I find r+f salespeople very annoying but I’ve looked for dupes and haven’t found anything I like nearly as well.

When I fly overnight I use aquaphor (like vaseline on steriods) as a face mask. I’ll use it sometimes at home as well.

If the wrinkles have been very upsetting, here’s a relatively cheap treatment that’s worked for me.

I strongly recommend buying some retinol products off Amazon if the wrinkles are upsetting at all. Retinol helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and boosts skin collagen to prevent future wrinkles. It costs me maybe $45/year.

Other than that, UV rays are a major cause of skin ageing. Most grocery stores sell some 15 spf skin moisturizer. I like to use this or put on sunscreen every day.

Thanks! Any suggestions as far as retinoids go?
I found this on Amazon but that seems like way too many products in one bottle, right?

Looks like it could be either milia or closed comedores. Probably something BHA could solve as it will help remove the dead skin cells. I’ve heard great things about Paula’s Choice and The Ordinary. Depending on the strength, start slowly. Maybe once a week. Vitamin C and retinol may help too as they can help clear away dead skin cells and help with texture. I love this serum because it has a whole bunch of incredible ingredients, including salicylic acid, and really helps my skin stay soft and clear.

I admittedly just tried the first thing that popped up on Amazon for acne, and it was this. It worked absolute wonders for me and I continue to use it every time my cycle comes around and brings it’s pimple friends along. My hormones were so bad post pregnancy that my acne was all the way down to my chest and I was desperate.

Right now I’m just using this Neutrogena foam gentle cleanser, Biore Witch Hazel BHA got a few days ago cuz I wanted to see what Witch Hazel was xD, and this basic Aveeno moisturizer which I’ve used the most because of its simple ingredients.

I’ve tried using this before and I remember it drying the hell out of my skin, I’m not sure how concentrated that is though.

Hi there!

I just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don’t allow in the sub.

Could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) “tag=” is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible – but no one can make a profit from the link.

Here’s the tag free link for an easy copy & paste: https://www.amazon.com/Vitamin-Retinol-Niacinamide-Hyaluronic-Salicylic/dp/B01BT02Q88/

If you’ve done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment. Thank you!

I got it from Amazon and someone actually recommended the brand to me here on this sub! It has good reviews and it’s really affordable. So far, it was the first thing I introduced and I really think it’s already really helped! My scars look much better and I haven’t had any new spots in a few days! May be in my head, but I really like it!

  • The issue(s) you need help with: I only break out on my left cheek (almost always) and it is always big angry red deep, painful, lumps with no head. I only have PIE on that cheek and my break outs are really bad right now. Why do I break out on one cheek? I have been washing my pillowcase daily, but I do sleep on that side. Also need help with the PIE aftermath. I NEVER wear makeup and I have been using concealer occasionally because I’m so embarrassed.
  • Skin type. I have average, very pale, combo skin
  • Current routine AM: Miceller water, EVA naturals serum, Neutrogena hydroboost gel cream. PM: CeraVe foaming cleanser, Eva naturals serum, Rosehip oil, Neutrogena night time moisturizer
  • How long you have been using your current routine, or product in question: I’ve been using these products for at least 6 months.
  • Anything new you’ve introduced or started doing that might change the condition of your skin: It’s been very dry and I’ve put my nighttime moisturizer on during the day a few times. I don’t think it would make a difference.

I bought this serum on Amazon by Eve Naturals that has Nicinamide (which I’ve been wanting for awhile), Retinol, Vit C, MSM (which I’m not at all familiar with), SA, and HA! I LOVE IT OMG. I am sure a lot of people wouldn’t want to mix all of those but I have been using SA, HA, Vit C, and Retinol for awhile and this makes my routine so much easier! It also has tea tree (which stinks, but the smell goes away immediately) and aloe in it.

After a week my skin is soooooo happy. Man I love this stuff. HG for sure.

I’m obsessed with this serum. It has everything you could ever want for your face. I use it morning and night if I haven’t done any other type of exfoliation. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BT02Q88?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thank you guys I really appreciate the helpful responses to this. Just some questions though:

– I currently use an Aloe Vera Gel as a face moisturizer, is that any good for all of this? I also discovered that my face gets kinda greasy during the day too.

– I have a face wash that contains Salicylic Acid, does that differ completely from the exfoliant? If that is the case I found one for £18 on Amazon.

– With the chemicals you guys mentioned, I found a Vit. C serum that contains all of them: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vitamin-Retinol-Niacinamide-Hyaluronic-Salicylic/dp/B01BT02Q88/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Facetheory+Porebright+serum+10&qid=1614021572&sr=8-3

Would this be good enough?

I’ve been using cetaphil to wash my skin and following it up with a toner and then this serum. During the day I top that with a combo moisturizer and sunscreen and at night I top it with jojoba oil.

I’ve been through tons of more expensive regimes and honestly this is the best my skin has ever looked or felt.

This past January I had a pretty large milia under my right eye (had been there for months). Just out of curiosity I thought I’d try to use some of the products I usually use on my cheek acne scars on the milia. I used the Eva Naturals Vitamin C plus serum on it in the mornings and The Ordinary Niacinamide serum at nights and a week later it was completely gone. It’s been a few months since and hasn’t come back (fingers crossed!).

Amazon link to the Vit C serum: https://www.amazon.com/Vitamin-Retinol-Niacinamide-Hyaluronic-Salicylic/dp/B01BT02Q88 (You can also buy it from their site.)

what is your opinion on this:

it is a large combo of things listed that are beneficial, and has many good reviews. I think

Or this one: https://www.target.com/p/unscented-eb5-vitamin-c-serum-concentrate-1oz/-/A-49139889

and when do I apply the serum? morning, night, both? after cleansing, after exfoliating? after moisturizing? lol

Is it after the water solution and before the moisturizer and creams?

Hiya! Here to hopefully help(: I used to struggle with body acne too until I started using benzoyl peroxide cleanser (dermatologist recommended it!) You can use an inexpensive brand such as panoxyl to do the job (also found in stores.) You can use it for your body and your face as well! It is very gentle and extremely effective. I saw fast results personally! As far as cleansers and moisturizer I recommend cerave’s products especially their hydrating am facial lotion with spf! I like a lot of cerave’s products because they avoid extra ingredients that clog the pores and they work to restore the skin’s natural barrier which will prevent acne. Now for the final touch my holy grail product is this serum I linked below! It really helps improve your overall skin tone and smooths out texture! Remember to wear sunscreen everyday at least spf 30!!! Cheers! (:

Vitamin C Serum Plus 2% Retinol, 3.5% Niacinamide, 5% Hyaluronic Acid, 2% Salicylic Acid, 10% MSM, 20% Vitamin C – Skin Clearing Serum – Anti-Aging Skin Repair, Supercharged Face Serum (1 oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BT02Q88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iNIgFb9BEMAWQ

Edit: Try to keep your routine as simple as possible to avoid overwhelming the skin especially when changing products, less is more!

Your skin looks amazing already but for your concerns I would use the serum linked below plus make sure you’re wearing sunscreen EVERYDAY at least spf 30. I recommend a mineral sunscreen containing zinc oxide (friendlier for acne prone skin) like the cerave am facial moisturizing lotion! Also I would make sure your toner and cleanser doesn’t contain any harsh alcohols or cleaning agents stripping your skin (: cheers!

Vitamin C Serum Plus 2% Retinol, 3.5% Niacinamide, 5% Hyaluronic Acid, 2% Salicylic Acid, 10% MSM, 20% Vitamin C – Skin Clearing Serum – Anti-Aging Skin Repair, Supercharged Face Serum (1 oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BT02Q88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iNIgFb9BEMAWQ

Also it’s important you wear sunscreen every single day!!!! I recommend an oil and fragrance free zinc oxide mineral sunscreen spf 30+ to avoid clogged pores (:
