I like it so far (I just picked it up today). I’m just gonna word vomit my thoughts about it for a bit
I’m not sure what the people trashing the keyboard and trackpad are talking about. The trackpad feels like every other trackpad I’ve used, it’s nothing special, but it’s not bad.
I’m not exactly a mechanical keyboard enthusiast (my only experience with mechanical keyboards is this) but IMO it feels great. Especially when you consider that every other laptop in the price range is going to be membrane. Hell, half the reason why I’m typing this wordy of a comment is because I like typing on it. But then again, I’ve never touched a Cherry MX switch, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I haven’t had a chance to play any games yet (still installing). Doom is the first thing I’m installing, so I’ll post back when I try that out.
The screen is great. Looks nice, and to my knowledge the refresh rate is as described. As I said earlier, I haven’t played any games yet so I can’t give any info on framerates in games yet. But I like spinning my mouse around the screen.
The chassis is nice, and has been out for a while so there are better reviews than I could give. I’ll just say it looks nice and I like the aesthetic of the black aluminium.
I like how the charger port and HDMI port are on the back. It helps keep all the cords out of my mouse space.
The RGB lighting effects are a bit disappointing. The LEDs and/or the bundled software doesn’t have any sort of smooth fading, so all the effects end up looking like blinky Christmas lights.
IMO it’s a little on the heavy side for a laptop of this size, but I’ve only really handled cheaper laptops or monstrously huge overpowered laptops in the past.
Overall I like it. I was skeptical after the controversy with the OverPowered prebuilts, but so far I’m satisfied with it

If you like the side lighting, this keyboard is similar. I’ve had mine for a couple years now and it’s great. Aluminum construction and nice, tacticle keys. I was amazed at the quality considering the price.

Exactly. It is just preference now.
I even have a board with browns I got on sale for $48 and an additional $12 partial refund from amazon (bought blues…but got browns. I like browns better anyways!) that has Huano switches that are largely considered cheap knockoffs and it is my current favorite.

Hi, I’m looking for a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches in a $50-$150 range that is backlit (preferably RGB but that’s not at all necessary) and has multimedia keys (to control music). I also don’t want it to have a huge unremovable empty space at the bottom if that’s a thing, because I simply don’t have the desk space for it. Some kind of design is also very preferable (so not a keyboard that looks like one of those shitty Dell keyboards in a middle school classroom, but with RGB keys).
This seems like something I’d want, however I’m not too educated on mechanical keyboards so I want a piece of advice from someone who knows more about this topic to make sure it isn’t something I shouldn’t buy. Thanks.
