I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but espropress is vacuum double walled stainless steel (and a double filtration as well). That’ll keep it hot! I usually do around 1:14-15 for FP and only for 2, so maybe 36g : 525g. My wife has a normal mug and I only have a smaller cup. Or maybe 40g : 580g.

Espro is not cheap but they (I think) pioneered the double filter to avoid sludge. This will be on my wedding registry if I ever manage to pull the trigger with someone who will let me put it on my wedding registry.

edit: sorry, all wrong on prices, just throwing out this absurd expensive number.

Everyone here is saying Bodum. They are great presses, but if you want an alternative: http://www.amazon.com/Espro-Ounce-Vacuum-Insulated-Stainless/dp/B0083XZ85I

I’ve had it for only three years, but no problems thus far. Sorry that I can’t give you more of a BIFL rating than that. But they’re kinda new to the market. They sell them at Williams Sonoma if you want to get a feel for the craftsmanship. It’s superb and has a wonderful filter on it. I highly recommend it for any caffeine addict that is willing to buy a higher end press.

Here’s the 8oz Espro Press, which I also highly recommend after breaking my fair share of glass brewing devices.
