Just a heads up that Optical Switches cannot be used as a replacement for Mechanical Switches on Mechanical Keyboards so basically an Optical can only replace an Optical and you would need to check if the Keyboard supports 3-pin or 5-pin (Some support both) and wherever if the Keyboard supports a particular brand.

There’s a Used-Like New on this for £42.67 in the UK (May be different if you’re in a different country) but it’s a High-Profile and High-Profiles tend to be louder than Low-Profile unless if they got built-in dampeners like Gateron Optical Silents which you would have to buy separately and some don’t like the scratchy feeling of Silents wherever it be Mechanical or Optical and to reduce the scratching you would need to lube them. That or you can add O-rings, QMX Clips & Lube to the SK61 Optical but since I got no experience with a High-Profile Optical I have no idea what the sound level would be compared to a Membrane and a Linear Low-Profile Optical and I suspect they won’t give full refunds or any refund at all if lubed though it’s apparently pre-lubed also lube lifespans tend to vary by the quality of lubing and climate can also effect it.

  1. The keyboard is only clickable from the blue link above, you will not be able to click on it within the PCPP part list link. You can choose any color scheme you want, just make sure it allows you to choose Gateron Optical Red switches.
  2. Make sure you choose the exact RAM kit I have showing because there are two very similar looking kits around this same price range. Go with the kit that has the part number CMK16GX4M2*B3200C16 because it has the better 16-18-18-36 timings. The €3 cheaper kit with the part number CMK16GX4M2E*3200C16 has 16-20-20-38 timings.

>Parts come to $1400 CAD after everything, which is my budget.

Your parts show $1,528.10 CAD on my end.

And with that same budget you can build this…

  1. The unactivated and 99% useable with a tiny, barely noticeable watermark at the bottom right of the display version of Windows 10 has been $0.00 from the official Microsoft website since the summer of 2016. And although Microsoft doesn’t seem to care about whether you activate Windows or not, the TOS says that activation is required. I’ve yet to activate Windows 10 in over 5 years. If for some reason you desire to activate Windows, you can do so at any moment in time right from your PC.
  2. You can only find the link to the EPOMAKER SK61 keyboard by clicking the blue link shown above, it is NOT in the PCPP link. Be sure to check out its other color schemes on its Amazon page, just make sure to get the Gateron Optical Red switches.
  3. There’s 4-5 colors on the mouse on its Amazon page.
  4. If your budget is higher than $1,528.10 CAD, let me know and I’ll tweak the build accordingly.
