I got mine off Amazon for $40. It has 6 temp options from 160F to 220F and works great.

What kind of tea do you want to make?

Most teas aren’t cooked on the stove–the water is heated separately (the temp depending on the tea) and then added to the teapot off the stove. For this you can use pretty much anything, including a stovetop kettle or just a saucepan, but if you really want to get into tea, IMO the easiest thing is an adjustable temp electric kettle. I have this Epica, which seems to be sold out, but this Cuisinart and Bonavita are generally highly recommended, and I’ve also heard a few people say good things about this Hamilton Beach.

For the few teas that actually are cooked, like some ways of preparing chai, personally I just cook it in a little milk/butter warmer pan because I like the spout, but any non-reactive pot will do.

I have an Epica with 6 temperatures. It’s easy to fill, clean, works great. And it’s relatively cheap.

Here is the electric kettle I use and a cup that you can brew in. It makes a simple, space saving duo that gets you everything you need for western style brewing.

Heat water to your desired temp
Putleaves tea in the basket
Fill with water
Put lid on
Steep
Take off lid
Remove basket store in lid.
Enjoy

*some people like to warm the pot. You can put about 1/3 full of warming water in the empty cup then discard when ready. This way your water won’t lose heat going into a cold cup.

This Epica kettle …was on sale for $40 a few years ago when I bought it. It’s been a great product, and it’s on sale again!

If I go to re use the loose leaf how do I do it? I usually only drink one cup at a time. Do I just take the infuser out, let the tea dry lol? Or is it only intended on steeping again right after the first?

Also, i was looking at this combo https://www.amazon.com/Epica-6-Temperature-Variable-Stainless-Cordless/dp/B01G7OL9ZW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1486621787&sr=8-3&keywords=variable+kettle plus https://www.amazon.com/Hario-Chacha-Kyusu-Maru-700ml/dp/B000NVMC4I/ref=pd_bxgy_79_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=W6562BAB0YZQKH1YGCTM&th=1 i assume I get the water to the desired temp then pour into the infuser then straight into my mug?

Finally, as for the variable kettle is it okay to only pour one cup into it? Also, I heard a complaint that it didn’t heat the water all the way up to the desired temp?

I got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G7OL9ZW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 about three months ago and I’m pretty happy with it. No rust, no weird taste, and a decent price.
